Assembly of your old Gems

Im not sure where to put the thread…but I think art section would be the best

I wanna make this thread about your old works of art(with blender)…things…that were a milestone to your current skills now…something that set out the direction for you

yay great thread!

here’s my first blender work ever, just dug it out some days ago and rendered it.
as you can see without any doubt, it’s a spaceship landing on a spacestation :stuck_out_tongue:

My first attempt at building a person (still not finished)

and my first yafray render
http://sbup.jyscomputers.com/rogerm3d/portal/yafray_portal.jpg

well I never thought about it, hmm now I wish I would have kept some
of it… but blender frustrated me so much, when I got maya I kinda over
reacted out of anger and deleted all my work but that was years ago…

%| I still wish I wouldn’t have smoked it though… 8)

Long, long ago, a logo was made in blender, in the land before time:

And the movie too!:

Yay flying logos!

Here’s my first scene - The attack of the Jovian space leeches.
http://members.shaw.ca/rjplus/leech.jpg

The rescue capsule was the first mesh I ever created - I was still learning how to tab into and out of edit mode etc. The space leeches came from tying to make a plant leaf using nurbs surfaces. The scene was an attempt to figure out lighting and materals, I took my first two meshes and added a sphere for the planet. The person was a free low poly mesh that I downloaded (a baseball player I think?). I’m embarrased to say this took me a better part of a week to make :expressionless:

wow, nice thread… I must dig up some VERY old and horrible looking stuff, I hope I still have those on some floppies…

but, as a milestone, or whatever, I concider “the library” to be one of those things for me. that was the project, that I have been building long time, and a project, that made me learn blender a lot…
I switched from 3dsmax, because I hated the interface and it was bit unclear if our workplace actually had all the licence stuff figured out correctly… and I had used blender before… so…
it’s my first bigger “real” project.

i’m happy that now atleast half of the time i know what i’m doing :stuck_out_tongue:

Not my first render…

http://www.selleri.org/Blender/buffer/F1-0.1.1.jpg

but the first I posted on blender.nl which got reaction. I had many good
advices from Macke, Caronte etc. on this, and finally I ended with the image on my site

which scored nicely at CurtiS challenge

These have always been two of my early favorites even though I had been using Blender for a year when these were created:

This is the very very very very first saved render… First dated: somewere in fall -99. (the current exact date is broken).

It’s wierd, I’ve lost most of my old work but I still got this one left. I don’t remember how it comes this particular image got saved. The only thing I remember about it is that it’s my very first.

EDIT:

And ofcourse I still got my “space-duck” left. (thanks rash…ehm…I mean green)

This is my first blend that made any sense :P. Created earlier this year when I discovered blender at version 2.26 and rendered it with 2.28a cause I couldn’t find the original renders.

Here’s my ‘first’ render. I learned how to use bezier curves to make my personal logo in 3d. This one was saved seven days after I joined the forums!
