This is a black hawk that I have been working on, backgrounds are images.
All is very cc welcome
I used blender and photoshop
body of the chopper is unwrapped with about 5 different textures applied to it.

Hmmm, thew glass needs work. Try lighting with a sun type lamp and up lighting with a hemi type lamp the colour of the ground.
Good model, did you make it?
You need motion blur sir
Thanks for the quick feedback guys ill change some things and bring an update later with some better lighting and with more motion blur (there is some)
The lighting doesn’t seem to quite match up between the background photos and the helicopter.
did you add the water for a reflection of the helicopter?
I’m not really sure. I’ve never tried matching up real and simulated light sources before. My guess is that you need to have some sort of scattered (maybe Hemi?) blue light source to represent atmospheric illumination, plus a bright directional to match the angle of sunlight. Someone else probably knows better than I do about this though.
Ye it is pretty difficult… I will have a go at changing the lighting a bit…
I once did a blackhawk that took several months and turned out extremely crappy, then I redid it in a 9 days modelling and about 9 more texturing. Maybe you can reference it for your textures. It’s meant to look rugged and war torn.
EDIT: make your blade blurs much much lighter and close to invisible.
It just looks weird, sort of fake (the water) in the mountain shot. Nothing to do with your render.
And i agree with Keith M (nice chopper), make Google images your friend. Have a look at as much reference as you can and ask very specific questions about what you see there. think just about light and it’s reflections, colour and its dispersal. Shadows and how sharp they are etc.
Wow that is a nice one ye i think the part that I lack most in is details and texturing… I hate thinking of spending days on texturing… I could make the glass look better by modelling the inside but I really dont want to do that… its very daunting to me…
I did not model the inside either, but here’s the material I used for the windows…sometimes it has it’s glitches and renders weird but it’s been a while since I used it.
There are two materials here…pick whichever you like. I’ve also noticed that a lot of window materials are dependent on circumstances to look good (which sound obvious but can be overlooked). Try to always use an HDRi or place a large skycolored plane above.

Thank you very much Keith M I will have a look at that and defiantly use those materials later
Btw I have also started a new project i which i am going to get over my fear of detailed texturing will be in the wips when i get some more done on it
When I made a chopper ages ago I too was scared of adding to much time in texture. I think projection painting is a better way to go on technical models like this. I made do with decaling which wad way to cumbersome.
Well I am about to go on a rant simply because I am in the military and hate to see gear I use reguarly FUBRed.
Now having said that I like the concept and the artistic liberties, but I find stuff that I used messed up annoying. That is just what I see off the bat not getting to see other angels of the bird nor close ups. Please dont take it to heart, and nice attempt.
HAHA!, sorry about that, your defiantly right with all those points but ye… ill call it artistic freedom
Rallici, see you’re the type of person we need before we begin modelling and compositing. I’m sure you look at my render and just about puke in the inaccuracies I have used (especially in texture) to sell the shot, haha…but you know how movies are nowadays anyway right? -Whatever the audience feels like seeing.
