Blender crashes and destroys .blend file

Hi,
I use Blender 2.9 on Macbook Pro 16 (Catalina 10.15.7) and when Blender crashes (which happens too often I presume) then it destroys .blend file which was opened at that time. I ca’t open it anymore. I event tried to open it on different computer (PC) but to no avail. I switched to Blender 2.8 but I’m afraid it’s just a question of time when blender destroys my work. Have anyone experienced such issue?

Can you open the .blend1 files?

You can click the filter icon in the file manager, and then check the backup .blend files.

What does it actually say when you open the file?
I’ve experienced .blend files becoming corrupt, and it was actually my Hard Drive that was the problem.

Thanks for quick reply. I can’t open .blend1 files either. It just crashes the Blender - “quits unexpectedly”. I think it is not hardware problem. I work hard on Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and a little on Unreal on this laptop and any files were corrupted so far. It is so strange that these files are destroyed. I have never experienced such thing before.

There is a discussion on it in this thread.
