Blender Guru Competition: Photo Realism

Here´s my entry.
Hope you like it!

@keeek - “simple” yet impressive dude. BI or Cycles? The quality seems Cycles but fur make me think it’s not.

Do anybody know if the winner can split the prize eg: 200$ to Blender Foundation and 300$ to a charity…?

Thanks!
It´s Cycles. Fur is made of a few thousand instances of a hair mesh.

Wow, there are a lot of very photo realistic entries here!

- Don’t say that, Major4z may be coming in, and in that case we’re all doomed :slight_smile:
Anyway, I just wanted to update my entry, because I redid some colors and lessened the lens effects (vignette, distortion, dispersion, DOF, dust, etc…) to very subtle. Oh, and yes, it’s all cycles.
Edit: of course I had to do last minute changes.

Hey,

this is my entry, hope you like it. My first try to render a photo realistic head. Everything rendered with the Blender Internal Renderengine.

Best regards,
Martin

@Jonathan L

Oh, that’s perfect in terms of color and saturation, imo. Very nice. :slight_smile:

@Jonathan L That is gorgeous!! :smiley:

I’ve only been using blander for around 3 months now, but I thought it’d be worth a shot. Good luck to everyone.

Hey everyone!
Here is my humble entry for this contest, “All I Need”, and this IS the final image

Full image: http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/2005/allineed.jpg

Floor, leather, and outdoor pic reflecting in the fractal on the left, all from CGTextures
Vase, blanket, fractals, Blender book, picture frames, and wine label are all my own or procedural
Rendered with BI, no postwork or nodes

It’s really great to see the enthusiasm for this contest, and Blender in general, especially the newcomers
Best of luck to everyone, the entries are looking really great! :smiley:

@saikafu

Absolutely awesome. :smiley:

Hello everyone!
This is my entry for this competition, hope you like it:

This was rendered in cycles with 3000 passes in about 30mins.
Postprocessing done in Blender’s compositing nodes (colorcorect, DOF, vignette, distortion and other stuff)

link to full res: http://www.pasteall.org/pic/34860

Edit:
I updated the compositing (turned down the saturation) and changed the grass a little bit

Good luck at all :wink:

@Chris94 That is amazing!

here’s my entry. i know i could’ve added a lot more detail but i’m happy with the result considering i did it in a week. It is rendered in the Blender Internal. Hope you like it critiques welcome!

@chris94

That is really good. This might actually be a winner, especially looking at Andrews taste. Very impressive indeed.
