Bugatti veyron WIP

This is by far the most expensive street legal car available on the market today (the base Veyron costs £1,083,798.63 ($1,700,000)). It is the fastest accelerating car reaching 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. It is also the fastest street legal car when tested again on July 10, 2010 with the 2010 Super Sport Version reaching a top speed of 267 mph.
So ive gone back to my 2011 supercars calendar and picked out the veyron as my next model, im planning on gettng this model done within 2 days, i’ll do a little tonight but the renders wont start coming in till tomorrow.

wait, what? a Veyron in 2 days?! woah  well, good luck! I’ll definitely keep an eye on this…the Veyron’s a great design, and the tech beneath the hood is astounding (I mean, come on, 10 radiators just to keep it cool enough!)

Haha, i know im being rather ambitious with this one, but if it goes over my time limit then its no biggie, but as long as all the modelling and base textureing is done by then, then ill be pleased

Hi! That’s pretty ambitious modeling a car within 2 days, tried to model an Audi Quattro once within 3 days, but I always wasted too much time redoing tiny details. So good luck with that  .Can’t wait for the first renders!

Okay, you either model really fast, or you’ve made a lot of cars, or both  I’m still working on my first car model, and I’d initially planned on it lasting a couple of weeks, but it’s been a few months now; haha, yeah, I’m still kinda slow. They do say though that once you’ve made one car, it’s easier and faster in the next projects…

Anyway, enough of my rambling - I’m looking forward to the first renders too!

Haha, I guess im just a fast modeller, and its right though, if you do any of a certain model time wether its furniture people or cars you will (from my own experience) get around %20 faster each time

sorry guys, i cant work on this model today as string winds in the night have levelled all the fencing in my garden (that 2.5acres that needs re-fencing) but here’s how far i got last night

Argh! the blue is killing my eyes!!! Go easy on the colors plz.
Here’s a tip, turn on optimal display on your subsurf, it makes wires easier to understand.

Haha, I guess being slightly colour blind is helpful for me then
Ok mate ill do that later

right i have finally fixed all my fencing xD time to get to work on this car

It looks really great! Sorry about the fencing, thankful that it’s fixed!
You’ve got the shape down from what I remember (saw it a few months back last).
yeah, that is reeeaaallllyyy blue, LOL, but I kinda like the contrast between the blue and white. Like those old blue-prints in the cartoons, just more electric.
(^_^)

yeah it was a pain in the arse lol, but all sorted
Thanks, yeah im using blueprints and a ton of reference images, seems to do the job lol
haha, ive gave it a softer more sky blue now just so i dont burn out everyones eyes lol

Lol, then their eyes will be safe now (^c ^ ,)!

haha, completely lol
well heres the latest update, most of the bodywork is done, windows, engine and details next

You’re getting fast! The topology looks amazingly neat!
How many subdivision modifiers and how many subdivisions?
(btw, like the new blue)

Thank you! xD
I have subdivion level 1 on all pieces except the huge air intake at the top and the rear spolier which have 2 levels
haha, good, its a little more gentle isnt it

(^^,)
Oh okay! Well done, it looks like a single accross the board, so good job!
A lot!! I was on the phone, so the blue wasn’t so harsh (it’s screen is closer to CMYK than to RGB), so when I got onto the PC, BAM! Haha.

yeah i wanted to keep it at as low subS as i could, its seems better if it can stay mid poly but still have high detail
haha, some phones are a pain for doing that lol, my last phone would fade out colours alot (an htc magic) but now i have the HTC sensation its got a better screen than my pc which is full HD lol.

It worked out, because it’s smooth from every angle I can see. Imo, you did great!
That one still puzzles me: the purpose of a full-HD on a screen so small, lol. Oh well, I’m sure there’s a reason.

Thanks xD im actually modelling the grills, but i cant find the remove doubles threshold limit on 2.61, do you know where it is?
ithought that at first, but turns out that it looks amazing with such a crystal clear screen, and since its a dual core with an adreno 220 gpu it makes gaming brilliant with games like modern combat and shadowgun
