Cash register

Hi! My newest project - Cash register.

After I uploaded my previous project, Candy Cart, few people told me they like this cash register a lot (to be honest I spent so much time on it and finally ended up liking it too), so I decided to grab some assets I already created and make a scene with it. So it turned out to be a weekend project. It is not an original cash register, I made a little twist on it, maintaining overall shape but changing the ornaments.

As the scene was created to improve my rendering skills in realistic style, it is not optimised for games (few sets of 4k textures here, I can see table might use even 8k) but you can still see main model on Sketchfab working pretty well. I love to play with light and it turned out warm and cozy scenes are my favourite to create.

Also, few people asked what I made on this scene - I created everything except ornaments on the table. Texturing was done in Substance Painter. Don’t know why, but I’m more into spending more time to create my own assets and then be happy everything is created by me than using something from the internet. For my own purposes it worked out well. :slight_smile:

Love the attention to detail! how did you get the curtain shader? looks great

Thank you!
Well, it is just a simple principled shader with transmission at around 0.7. I tried many options but that worked out for me the best.

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

Great picture. Can you tell us more about the wood texture on the desk? Is this procedural?

Thank you! Yes, it is procedural wood from Adobe Substance 3D assets. I played with values a bit and added some scratches and dust layers to achieve nice results.

This is just beautiful! The metal work on the register, the knobs, the dust on the glass of the buttons. Thank you for sharing this!

@bartv, @bhibb Thank you! :blush:
