Please remember to state if your entry is pure, open or non-competing.
There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
Fun:
You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
Glory:
After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner will be featured in the Feature Row and picks the theme for Weekend Challenge #2000!
[I’m not sure if that will work out as expected - but I guess, we’ll know in about 20 years. ]
Just in case, anyone is wondering: “samples”, “pixels”,… are just examples. It could just as well be camels, planets, people, mistakes, … whatever you can come up with.
Pure, Blender 3.2.1
I just had to put my foot in for this one! (First Time!)
Default Cube, 1000 faces on each side, randomly pulled to make mountains.
The cube used to be 1000mm. About 2hr of work time.
Edit: if you look at the color scheme you’ll notice that top is Blender, right is BA, and left is the layers of earth.
Ok how about 1000 legs? The thing is when something is sneaking up on you it’s best to count the legs. centipedes would eat any unwary bug, while millipedes are merely a nusiance
You can use my original idea of Blender 1000 AD, a medieval wizard summoning up a default blender scene via portal/magic circle and having to delete the cube and insert a monkey. I like the high concept but the supernatural elements seems to betray the theme which would already be strained at that point.
(Open, Competing.)
Open:
Resources I used include two free fonts, an HDRI, and the blender logo.
The main texture was created in gimp. Rendered in cycles with 1000 minimum samples, 1000 maximum samples, and 1000 seconds time limit. (Obviously, my computer finished before it reached the ridiculous limit. ) The full image is 1000x1000 pixels.
Just for fun, here’s a render with only 1000 pixels:
