Theme #1000 for Friday 19th of August 2022 is:
1000… (e.g. 1000 sample, 1000 pixels, 1000 verts, 1000 byte, …)
Entry closes on Monday, 22:30 GMT (Mon, Aug 22, 2022 10:30 PM)
How do I post my entry? Here is an Example: (click to open)
Title: 1000 Monkeys
Please remember to state if your entry is pure, open or non-competing.
There are two main goals for these contests: Fun and Glory.
You get only 4 days to create a cool image, based on the theme for the week.
After 2 days of voting, a winner is declared. The winner will be featured in the Feature Row and picks the theme for Weekend Challenge #2000!
[I’m not sure if that will work out as expected - but I guess, we’ll know in about 20 years. ]
For details please check out the: CHALLENGE RULES
Btw.: Comments are welcome in both threads (entries/voting). Have fun!
I’m busy with Moving Meditations right now, but I can’t just skip #1000
Hmm… you can’t do much with 1000 pixels…
I was interpreting it more like pixel art in Minecraft. Where the image is not literally 1000 pixels.
Oh, but that image is near 10000 “pixels”, so it would still be too big. 1000 pixels really is small.
Okay new idea. How about 1000 default cubes to make an image like this?
Hmm, actually that image probably has 100000 dots. This is a hard one.
Just in case, anyone is wondering: “samples”, “pixels”,… are just examples. It could just as well be camels, planets, people, mistakes, … whatever you can come up with.
1000 miles under the sea
Open entry, created in blender 3.2. My entry will be a WIP of my current CGboost project for the Underwater World challenge.
It could just as well be camels,
Or the fleas of a thousand camels…
1000 Faced Mountains
Pure, Blender 3.2.1
I just had to put my foot in for this one! (First Time!)
Default Cube, 1000 faces on each side, randomly pulled to make mountains.
The cube used to be 1000mm. About 2hr of work time.
Edit： if you look at the color scheme you’ll notice that top is Blender, right is BA, and left is the layers of earth.
Field of 1000 mesh flowers
Pure, cycles, 512 samples, open denoiser, rendertime ~4min, all made in blender, used compositor and motion blur.
Here come your default meshes for blender from
Ok how about 1000 legs? The thing is when something is sneaking up on you it’s best to count the legs. centipedes would eat any unwary bug, while millipedes are merely a nusiance
Pure: blender 3.2. rock generator
non competing (pure), Cycles, Blender 3.2.2
Modified Default Cubes by the Thousands
‘Thousand Cube Salute’
Open, cause it’s basically just the Blender logo.
Might do something else if I have any ideas, but I’m a bit burnt out at the moment.
You can use my original idea of Blender 1000 AD, a medieval wizard summoning up a default blender scene via portal/magic circle and having to delete the cube and insert a monkey. I like the high concept but the supernatural elements seems to betray the theme which would already be strained at that point.
1000 Cubes 1000 Samples
Pure, just a rigid body simulation with 1000 cubes.
Pure - I deleted the default cube and added a new one to make sure it was all my own work
Pure entry. Cycles render, postpro with Gimp.
Clay render :
One Thousand Blender Cups
Pure. Everything made in Blender, only procedural textures.
Now that I think of it, the weekend challenge could have been called the blender cup.
… I’m so sorry for the silly joke.
“Gigabyte (or 1000 Megabytes)”
Resources I used include two free fonts, an HDRI, and the blender logo.
The main texture was created in gimp. Rendered in cycles with 1000 minimum samples, 1000 maximum samples, and 1000 seconds time limit. (Obviously, my computer finished before it reached the ridiculous limit. ) The full image is 1000x1000 pixels.
Just for fun, here’s a render with only 1000 pixels:
