This could be fun,

I have recently asked ChatGPT to create random business names and then explain what the business logos and buildings should look like. It gave me some great inspiration, was mostly going to create some assets for city skylines to replaces the wacky nature of buildings.

Going to try asking it for some inspiration for a future cityscape when i get home, might break it down into transport and buildings.

City in the Sky

Open entry, blender 3.4 cycles. It’s based on my CGboost entry for the ‘City in the Sky’ challenge. I embellished it by adding elements from other projects to it. I’m at the point where any project of this size tends to limit my viewport’s response time. I’m thinking eventually I’ll get a serious graphics card. I managed to get my RX 580 to act as my main display card. It made Diablo 3 work smother, however, it didn’t help blender too much.

Non-Competing. Built and rendered in Blender Cycles. Some touch-ups in Photoshop.

The majority of the buildings are all built out of a single block with lots of details like billboards and pipes, which is instanced to fill the volume of low-poly shapes.

The Jetsons

Open - blender EEVEE & Freestyle. I had problems with Freestyle and the canopy to George’s car, so I added it in Inkscape.

Colony

Pure, Cycles, procedural textures, 4096 samples because the bounced lighting got pretty noisy

I really liked @ArtemOn’s take on the theme, so I also went in the space direction. Amazing work from everyone so far!

Wow. This is really nice. I like the style and mood that you set. I think you would have won if you were competing in the competition. Could you explain a little bit more how you are getting this nice cartoonish hand drawn look and the outlines. Are you using grease pencil at all? Very very nice!
