Misspelling on purpose or are we going to have renders or characters eating sand?

Nice catch! I guess, it is not on purpose. So, I changed it to ‘Dessert’ for now.
@md2000 If it was on purpose, just let me know and I’ll change it back right away.

That being said, I’m pretty sure we’ll have a few “characters eating sand” in both cases.

Same thought about the desert here too :joy:

Doh! Sorry about the spelling, it was really late at night. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it…

(Thanks for fixing it)

Another Brick

Blender 4.2 cycles pure entry. I started with the idea of the ultimatum made to many children, then realizing Pink Floyd had covered this on their Album: The Wall. If you don’t eat your meat, you can’t have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat!

Acquired Taste

Open. Fly model was downloaded.
Not much time these days, but I had an idea and quickly threw it together.

“I don’t have a problem, the frog has the problem!”

My favorite type of dessert.

The green fairy has the myth that it can make you see things that aren’t there. I do have a bottle of it in my dry bar but it is an acquired taste. My favorite is gin but used absinthe for the dramatic effect.

Non-competing

Cycles, 4096 samples, reused my frog, HDRI lighting, minor post processing with Paintshop Pro.

A little WIP. I struggled a lot with making a cake texture but it seems volume is the way to go.

This is so good! Can i be right cheeky and ask if after this weeks contest, you’d be so kind as to drop a screenshot of the nodes ITT?

Thanks.

The texture is still WIP. I am using geometry nodes for the volume.

Has anyone else accidentally made themselves really hungry with their entry for this week?

edit: I still don’t love how my swirls of buttercream look, but I’m not going to let perfect be the enemy of finished. I do like how I’ve got my muffin cases to now actually look like they’re made of paper, rather than plastic. I’ve not spent so long looking at food I can’t actually eat since I was in hospital…

Death by chocolate.
Pure, borrowed chocolate cake texture from the wonderful @Helge, with a bit of tweaking/brute force to make it work for Blender 3.6.

Yep, I know that feeling.

It depends on the details, but “Adaptive Subdivision” might also be an option.

This would give you more flexibility regarding other material settings like Roughness and Subsurface Scattering.
