If the winner doesn’t supply a theme before Thursday 22:30 GMT, the organizer will select the theme. In this case, the winner’s theme will be used the next time we are lacking a theme on Thursday 22:30 GMT.
Having selected the theme, the winner will not be eligible to enter that week. They may however still submit an image, but it won’t be included in the voting.
Nice entries everyone! But in my point of view the voting this week is REALLY unfair
I mean i liked everyone’s job but I think other entries deserve more
I noticed you’re new here, you should know that the contest part of this is such a low level of competition. The voting is just to get a new theme for next week. Everyone is here to learn and grow as an artist
Everyone here has grown so much and is extremely talented. I’d vote for everyone if I could and everyone here deserves to get that PM from Helge asking for the next theme. But its not up to me, we usually have a lot of lurkers and people who don’t compete who vote
For now, it looks like @FlyingBanana is bringing this one home, and I can see why.
That being said, I know what you mean. The results of this kind of poll cannot satisfy every need. If you are looking for a reliable ranking of all entries, the question “What is your single most, undisputed, #1, favourite entry?” isn’t the right one to be asked. For that, we would probably need some kind of ranking/rating (for every entry).
However, the way I see it, we have two main requirements:
Finding (one) winner.
Keeping voting fast and simple.
With this in mind and given the overall circumstances, I think, the current system meets both of these rather well. And the ‘up to three’ votes also seem to have been a step into the right (more balanced) direction.
But of course, @beau11 is absolutely right. The voting is fun and a useful tool for finding a new theme - but in the end, everything else is so much more important.
Hello,
This is my non-competing entry “Liquid contrast”. Cycles 750s. Texture painting and lot of nodes used. Made too late to compete but I will show it anyway. Maybe someone like it. My vote go for sdfgeoff and PyBlend. Also Helge entry has great mood as always.
Nicely said about the growth @beau11. I’m one of those lurkers that likes to vote. Each week I very much enjoy watching what is created and I really enjoy taking my time to vote carefully. Sometimes I don’t always vote for the technically best, I have voted for works that have evoked an emotional response from me, because that is in part what art is supposed to do right? @Helge, I really like what you made this week, you have my vote. Something about it really touched me. @ChrisG3D, I really like yours as well, I can feel that moment, when you’re really connecting with someone and you just need to find some way to make that connection a physical one, no matter how small. Nice work.
I am still in the process of learning Blender and keep wanting to join in on the challenge, but still holding back a bit. Maybe next weekend I will submit something!
