Placeholder just in case the world starts spinning…
Thank you for mentioning that. For people who are new to Blender, comments and info like that are helpful.
Very nice render, also.
“Venture into the Magic Wild”
Pure, though I used some png’s for the leaves, I feel comfortable putting my name on this one. Decided to take advantage of the stay at home order and take a break from Minecraft to spend a good 12 hours on this picture. I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out ![]()
Hey Joe! Glad that’s helpful
Here is my entry:
POLAR BEAR ICE SPIRIT
Pure Blender 2.28a, Eevee render + compositor nodes.
RobertT
Nice. I almost though that was something by RobertT.
Cornsnake
Here is my pure entry for this challenge. I completed it in about 4h this weekend. It was made in Blender 2.82 and rendered in Cycles with 400 samples.
Wild mushrooms - Eevee - Pure
First success with Eevee, slowly getting used to it. Some of the entries this week are incredible, @beau11 your’s is fantastic and in 12 hours too! @Helge as always a great entry!
Many crashes and things, so I’ll give it a miss this week.
Rarebit
- Magic Hands Forest…
Pure - Blender 2.81 and used the MTree add-on (thanks to @T1chy for mentioning it).
Wanted to play around with a hand rig along with a collision simulation. The collision simulation did not work out. The idea was to have the lightning bolts bounce off the mirror plan with collision physics, but i could not get it to work with the animation (any help with this, please post); ticking the animation check box did not work. The lightning was parented to a bone in one of the fingers which made the flying animation hard cause as the lightning moved forward it was also move up and down like the fingers (humm… as typing this, maybe the parenting was the cause of the collision not to work ?? )… A few lessons learned with this one.
Some really really nice work done by all the posters here, nice job.
Eyes of the Wild
Pure entry. Everything made in Blender, only procedural textures.
Based on the guaraná fruit, in my opinion the coolest looking fruit in the world.
Mystic Cavern
Open Entry (used assets from blendermarket.com like graswald and botaniq for the plants (some are edited) and textures from poliigon.com)
Made in Blender rendered in 2.83 alpha using the new adaptive sampling feature which is awesome.
Not 100% done yet but no time left after the render crashed like 17 times because of a compositing error.
Getting the water right was quite hard, as well as the lighting. I used some volumetrics, and HDR, multiple point lamps and a spotlight. The water was tricky as well. I used 3 layers (top, volume and color).
Don’t worry, everything is just fine. Welcome on board!
Btw.: Did you try blender’s denoiser? It’s pretty magical itself. ![]()
