CLT House

Hi guys,

The last several months I tried - in my rare spare time - to visualize one of my biggest dreams; designing and realising my own house. Made out of CLT (crosslaminted timber) this sustainable home blends into the environment but stands out enough to catch the eye. Some models (furniture, plants) are modeled by other, some by my own. Made in Blender 2.81 + PS.
Specs (previous pc): 6GB RAM, gts 970, Intel i5  :joy:
Gladly in the meantime I’m blessed with some better hardware…

Hope you guys like the visuals. Comments are very appreciated :+1:

You’re on the #featured row! :+1:

Now I wish my interior design students would render this way …

How do you render the grass with so many particles?

Really great work! I would like to see a top town view of the inside of the house.

Could you share some details on the grass? Did you use Grasswald for it? And are the trees only sprites?

Well, because of the lack of high specs on my pc, I wasn’t able to create lots of particles. Read NOT able. I was forced to do it in post. So the grass is Photoshop-work, as well as the trees in the back and the skies. And even the vegetation/plants next to the wooden stairs are photoshop.
The trees close to the house are from the Grove.
For the grass I wished I could use Scatter, but my former pc wouldn’t let me (the house and interior were already demolishing my pc). Gladly I’ve got a new pc with much better specs, so I can use Scatter next time. Really recommend it for scattering grass as well as other objects to scatter.

Awesome work! Unbelievable that is a render and not real photos! :star_struck:

How many particles did you try to render ? did you hide everything on viewport?’

Great work!
Please share more info about the rendertimes and your enviroment light (if it’s a HDR or whatever).

I’ve been thinking of buying it, and been hesitating between that and Graswald. However, the weight of particle systems might make that useless.

Yesssss, and that is the greatest compliment I can get. I always try to achieve this goal, but this is also the most difficult. Very happy with it, thank you
