I think you need sharper creases on the hair.

Other than that I always find that anime style hair tends to look rather craptastic until you chuck a material and/or texture on it.

I forgot to add: Good work. Keep it up!

lol i dunno man, the edges seem fine, you cant really make them sharp with mesh smooth unless you have tris. Which im completely against. And about hair looking crappy, i think it actually looks rather good considering the amount of effort it takes to create it compared to the hair system(which in my opinion only looks good if you throw a good gig of ram to it.) and actually looks better when you have a good material to go with it.

Okay i finished the angel side of the hair, need a few more tweaking. I didnt bother doing the back of the head because thats not going to show up in the final still image(oh yah btw i forgot to mention this is going to be a still render).

Have you considered modeling the hair with flat polys rather than making them like a mold?

If you’re going for anime style, you could try to adjust the hairline a bit and make the mouth a little smaller.

i did model with flat polys i just used the mesh smooth.

Unfortunately im not going for anime style its just the hair that will be anime “like” because its really the easiest way to model the hair

okay i think im done with the portion of the hair thats gonna be visible in the final still. Unfortunately the rest of the head(thats not visible) looks like utter shit. I believe it would be a waste of time to work on if it isnt going to be seen. Sinec his left side of hair going to be black, i decided to not focus on details. You wont be able to tell in the final render.

Woot im back from the turkey thanks giving day, to spice up this project yet again…

Looking forward to it!

Sorry havent replyed for a while but i am still kind of busy with finals and such. Well right now im modeling the guy straight into the final pose so i dont have to rig him. Also i am going to model the clothing straight on to him, thats why the model is really simple without muscles and such. I am more concerned right now with proportions and basic shapes of the body. I switched the stage to modeling arms and legs since thats what i am going to do right now
Comments on this would be nice as always

So yay, i have 100 posts now, and to save up for an occasion like this, i waited to update for a bit. So I added both legs and arms as a celebration :).
IN any case the feet and the hands are going to be modeled at another time, i still have a few tweaks to fix before i can go on with the modeling process. This time around i really need the critique to find mistakes in the mesh. It looks odd but i cant put my finger on it.

Ok so i started to work on the hands. And boy oh boy is it tough to model them already posed. Here is what i have so far. I did not do the thumb yet.
