I saw it about 3 times, but it was badly dubbed in English ;p I was about 4, (9 years ago), but I still thought it was fun though, but the books are probably better.
Very nice work again Doris !
In my country the character was renamed Fifi instead of Pippi
The reason of the renaming was very likely because āpippiā was pronounced in my language exactly the same as the kid word for urination
bonwr, i first saw the films and then read the books, and i liked that i this way could imagine the movie again
thanks, sanctuary,ha, that is same with kids language here, still in germany we have her name pippi, lol, maybe the translator did not have kids and thus not knew itā¦lolā¦
The kids language is probably universal, almostā¦ ha ha
Just for fun, I found this:
Not a reference photo, right?
Or, maybe an idea for a new project?
MAN thats cool! As a Swede I grew up with all Astrid Lindgren`s stories. You brought up some old memories for me here Doris, Cheers!
I also grew up watching Pippi LĆ„ngstrump. I even went to the same school as the actress who played her in the movies.
Really nice work Doris, I probably havenāt told you before but I admire your work. It is really inspirational so please keep it up
ThatĀ“s pretty awesome!
Love the Pippi, Doris! The hair through the horseās mouth is great Of course, outstanding sculpt work as usual!
thank you very much everyone! i am glad you like my version of pippi
ah, michalis, mr bean! he would be fun indeed
hey cramer, i guess we all did, her stories are just wonderful, and still modern
ninthjake, that is way cool i try my best to be inspiring, i know i am a lot inspired by the variety of works i see here on blender artits
vicky! thank you, yes this was a lucky posing accident, it was not planned, but i posed the horse, made a render, and i had a tangent line, that suggestā¦ lol, so i adjusted the pose, resculpted a little the hairā¦ i had so much giggle when i done itā¦lolā¦
Love it! Very expressive sculpting. Iām not actually familiar with the characters beyond the name, but they certainly have a lot of character!!
thank you matt! then i recommend to grab one of the pippi books and read! will be fun, i promise
Just about everything in here is amazing! I really like the veil you made in post 942, along with the rest of the sculpt. Hair and face look great.
HOLY SMOKES!!! :spin: Tell me, where did you find the time to even look at my work, let alone help me with it???
thank you scotchtapeworm, yes this veil, it was fun to figure out how to do it. glad you like it.
hi joey, oh, i donāt know really, but when i see i can help i like to do so. good luck with your bear!
 Well Thank you!!! It means a lot to me!
long time no post in my sketchbook, but here is now, in crosspost with finished section, my portrait of magnus carlsen, world champion in chess 2014 (and 2013 as well), completely done in blender, no other program was used. i hope you like it
amazing
Nice work doris, I really like the lighting and the composition, and his likening is very good.
IMHO his hair could be better though, maybe less clumped, or a little more randomized (a larger radius maybe).
Out of curiosity, did you make it B&W in compositing, or in the materials themselves?
I apologize for my criticism, but you deserve Compliments, and sincerity.
paolo
thank you blackdot
thank you paolo, sincerity is very much appreciated, and constructive critique is always good to learn and see mistakesā¦yes, i need get learn better how to really control the hair, i find this quite difficult ā¦ it is black and white in materials, i did not introcuce any colors, exept a dark grey for the chess board, and a mid grey for the hairs, everything else is off white material.
Thanks for your answer, I thought so.
You are not alone in having troubles with hair, in blender as in other software itās always a challenge, you caught the cutting very well, just a small tweaking of children parameters can make the difference, but itās a go by trial.
Cheers,
paolo
