Doris sketchbook

:edit: I missed the croc, Angela and Myst! You are very prolific! Great work

umii, thank you so much. i am glad i achieved that
michalis, thanks. it seems i am better with the more loose style
matt, thank you. have not seen you quite a time. is all well for you? …yes unity, i have some ideas too, but really need first learn it…lol… ah, the croc, etc, yes i like to do something unual for me from time to time… glad you like those too.

Great work! This portrait looks very lifelike. I think the nose could use some smoothing out, as I very rarely see people with such a crease in the center, but perhaps this detail will be blurred if you choose to retopo.

it seems i am better with the more loose style

LOL, indeed. Loose style you say. Well, if you go for a 3d print, (said that), this “loose style” will sound.
It will sound in the real world. Time to start thinking what all this smoothing around stands for.
Our good friend, Rodin, may has something to say about it.
It’s about measuring your feeling.
The less complicated the easier to measure it.
And, here our other good friend, Goethe.
He would say that ancient artists caught their feels on their artwork. Contemporary artists of his time, (and today’s) trying to catch their emotions, so the bigger the artwork it is, the better…
LOL, I love Goethe. How right … so true.

thanks, zeke faust. yes, the nose crease is quite heavy… oh, this was intended as a sketch only, a study so to say, i will not retopo and refine.
hehe, michalis, nicely said and so true… still, i have not the feeling to try printing 3d, somehow, as i carve wood, and work in real clay, 3d printing feels like cheating to me  …but i guess, time will come and i become too curious and try it anyway…lol

more portrait fun  … all blender, sculpted meshes are dynatopo meshes

Portrait, is as always. Great expression
Cloths and hair (and headphones etc), beautifully made.

Beautiful as always, your really becoming a master at sculpted clothing.

thank you michalis, in the moment i enjoy portrait so much
thank you harley, yes, i did sculpt quite a few now, and it made click  sculpting clothes is actually lots of fun!

Phenominal!!!

Shaun

shaun, thank you

i am on a portrait trip  … so here is another sketch. as the last two, this is completely done in blender. everything you see is sculpted or modeled, there are no bump textures or such. all sculpted meshes are stil dynatopo, hence “sketch”

The granny looks very happy with the cake even though you know, the cake is a lie!!

thank you ucupumar, the cake is a lie? i do not understand this.

I thought everybody on internet knew this. My bad. :o
‘The cake is a lie’ is a meme catchphrase came from ‘Portal’ game. You can find out more about that here.

ah, thank you for explanation… i am not in games really, so i did not even know game portal. but now i read a little to fix this missing knowledge at least a little

Beautiful work again Doris.

You continually improve, but how I cannot understand except that you find ways to raise your own bar

ryeath, thanks so much
craig, thanks. oh, i am insanely curious to try new things and get very easily inspired by all sorts of stuff  … and i sculpt a lot, really a lot, each day, and often nights too …lol…so, it is partly all the practice i get this way…
