Eevee Toon project breakdown tutorial (Toon + Layers in nodes)

A follow up to my previous Eevee toon shader tutorial showing a more complex project. I combine Eevee with pre-rendered light layers from Cycles. A mix of 3D and 2D workflow. Eevee can perform like a render engine, 2D digital painting layer stack, and compositor, all at the same time!

In this tutorial:

  • Spot fixing bad shading by painting into Eevee
  • Adding extra detail by painting on top of Eevee
  • Easy Pre-rendered light layers from Cycles
  • Using Eevee to adjust and manage light and effect layers
