Foggy Lakeshore

I got several lakeshore photoscans this week, so I made a quick scene to showcase them! I went a little crazy on the details but I dare say it turned out quite nicely. The biggest thing to try when putting ground assets together is that you should continue patterns (e.g. a sandy area) throughout the scene if possible.

Wow, that is remarkably real looking. Great job!

That render is incredibly atmospheric. Great moody light & haze.

One (mild) criticism/question: Where the fallen branch points towards the shoreline it looks like a haze layer produces a sudden jump in fogginess. Is that intentional or some sort of effect of a shift in ground pattern in the distance?

But overall, amazing work. Love the mood of this render!

Honestly, when I first saw your post, I was like, ‘Wait, why is someone posting real photographs here?’ But when I opened it and realized it was actually a 3D render, my mind was blown! Absolutely stunning work. You’re not just creating great artwork—you’re showing everyone what Blender is truly capable of. It’s crazy to think about how much Blender used to get clowned on back in the day compared to what we can do with it now!
