Halo Reach Falcon

This is a ship I’ve been working on the last few days, it still needs a lot of work and detail, but I just wanted to show off my progress, the bottom picture is from the halo reach website. Critique appreciated.

That’s a really good model. I would advise that the engines on the top of the model need to be wider than their height and sweep back a little more also the rotor engines need a little work as well.

Yeah thanks for the reply, this is one of the first models I have ever really tried to put detail in, I’m not very good at modeling yet, so I thought I would try my hand at it, and I was going to start on the rotor engines this afternoon, I see what you mean be the engines on top, I’ll go ahead and fix that today as well.

Update: I did more work on the rotor engines and the top engines, still needs much more work, but its coming along.

I would say that you need to make the “wings” wider and shorter. The wings on your model are almost as long as the Bungie one, and yours is a lot farther from the camera. I think you could flatten them a bit as well.

The cockpit needs to be a bit wider, and the angle of the rear stabilizing wings needs to be adjusted. It looks too sharp at the moment.

Hope I’m not being too picky.

Its fine, I want to hear what I can do to fix it, its works in progress, and for me to progress I need picky people.

The rotor engines look a lot better now. I can see you made the engines wider which looks much nicer i think. Can’t judge on the sweep back of the engine though because of the camera angle.

Nice model. Can’t really see all the details, so I’ll wait for the youtube vid. I agree with the suggestions made by others, especially the rotor size. They do look better, being larger.

Looking great Inferno, keep up the good work. My one comment is that it would be to try to bevel some of the hard angles.
PS:Any idea on when if you’ll texture it?

I’m going to try and texture, I don’t think I’ll be able to do a great job on it, because I’m not very good with gimp, but I’ll try.
P.S. does anyone know a website that will help me get better at gimp?

The cockpit looks to skinny and not curved enough. In the picture the windows of the cockpit get wider in the middle. Otherwise very cool. I can’t wait for it to be textured.
