Lord of the Rings Junkie: One: Pentium processor. slower on rendering than a slower AMD Sempron… Also, not dual core or 64 bit.
Two: Built-in graphics, so it uses the processor and RAM. Therefore it acts like it has less RAM than it does AND it uses processor speed, so it will act like the processor is slower than it actually is unless you have your moniter unplugged, and visual effects on your desktop VERY low. Every mouse movement will take up more processor power than usual, because it needs to use the procesor to draw it on-screen.
Your Dream computer is pretty low-end for a dream computer!
That’s the best PC I could build on Dell’s website. I’m sure I could do better if I started from scratch. You have to admit the mac is pretty good though. Dreams of 16 Gigs of RAM
I’d pile in a bunch of the latest processors in multiple CPU units and seperate units full of physics and GTX 7800 graphics cards wired together to act like a super computer.
I’m thinking a new mac, with most of the features, that’s around $17,000.
1.5 terrabytes (TB?) of Hard drive
16GB ram
3 Ghz dual core intel something-or-other (I would use something else, but I want to run windows too)
512 MB Nvidia video card, I forget what it’s called
I don’t really care about monitors, I left those out (I’ve got plenty at home)
some type of extended warranty
some other stuff I don’t remember
As you can see, I couldn’t be bothered to actually go on the site and check out all the stuff, I’m just typing from memory.
That’s actualy what mine is, sid. The ‘realistic’ dream computer.
Argunda, my ‘dream’ computer has the same specs as your, just without all the third party stuff (i.e. fax, printer, monitor) and it’s a whole lot cheaper.
I would love to have the infared one but only when traveling with something like a TabletPC or if I ever heve the money to incorporate a computer into my car console.
But with the OLED keyboard, imagine how useful it would be for blender if somebody have labelled each and every hotkey with a unique picture or wording to help everyone understand the layout on it. Plus like the picture above, it would be perfect for a gaming system.
there could be 2 mode for blender, one with which the keys would have 3 small lines (or 4) of function and they are colorcoded accorting to ctrl, alt, shift colors. the other mode would be that the shift option shows up when u r pressing the shift button and the same could be done for ctrl and alt.
I would hope that the OLED technology would allow for it, and I’m fairly certain it will. It will just take some time for the Blender developers to implement.
Now it would be really cool if the key designs changed depending on the current app.
yeah that is the whole point of this keyboard. you could customize it to show anything like a small .bmp or .gif files in the button (yes i heard u can use a animated gif for it). I think u would have a taskbar logo for the keyboard where u can change the profiles for any particular program u wanna to use and the keyboard will automatically change the display on the keyboard according to the selected profile.
plus, i’m not sure, but if it light up then it would be perfect for nighttime whenever any user wanna turn off the light in their room and stuffs. I hope so cause I use the computer at night all the time and I don’t have good lighting here.
