Can anyone guide me to get a CD full of 3D Models.
CD should not be very expensive.
I should be able to use these models in any manner.
They should not be very expensive. I found some from turbosquid but they
are very expensive. I have just started 3D work and trying to make a story.

I want the CD with payments
It is a perfect idea for Katorlegaz, although many of the KAtorlegaz models can’t be used commercially.
Actually I have just started 3D animation. I think I will develop some small - small moral stories of 3 -5 minutes. After a collction of 12 stoies, I will contact tv commercials. They may like or may not. If they like I will sell them other wise again develop more 12 stories and so on…
This is my purpose. Now to do that I want some models. For that I am readdy to pay ( NOT MUCH) I found turbosquid… which I can’t afford. I want to some cheap or FREE but with no Legal boundation for commercial or non commercial.
This is a very good approach to me. as i am into the modeling and doing realistic modeling and carector too. But as u want a CD full of Blender means the CD should contains atleast 15000 models and i think it is impossible now for anyone person to do that. And if a group of modelers will take the responsibility to do, that it may b expensive but if u go for another way i think that should b good for u also. ask anybody for a model as per u need. and get it done by him…

Can I suggest that if you want to get work in the 3D industry, it would be a good idea to model your own characters.
I’ve been playing around with Blenderfor about 3 years now and other 3D programs for 6 or 7 years before that, but it’s only this year that I feel confident enough in my own skills to offer to illustrate some childresn’s books for an author friend of mine.
Have fun learning, and post stuff here in the Work In Progress threads. The feedback can be the most valuable thing you’ll get! Also look into the modelling and animation contests. Don’t be too intimidated bu the few that do astonishing things with Blender. Ask how they did it!
All in all - Keep with it. The only field that the adage “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again…” does not apply is skydiving! - Be persistant, but find how to form your own vision.

Let the user become member or the Sponsors of Orange can use the model bank with $1 each model.
These models should have shapes, walk, talk, poses etc.
There should not be any legal boundation for personal or commercial.
Uhm, people are using blender to MAKE models, to post THEIR OWN models here on the forum, and get feedback.
Above all I highly doubt that if you can’t make a single model , you are going to be able to make a decent looking short animation with those …
And I only doubt more about the fact if any company will be intrested in those “movies” of yours

There should be a power full story and a powerfull sound with the animation.
I wish I could get my models cheap somewhere, too…
I’m sorry but besides Katorlegaz you won’t find anything like that soon. Giving good models with everything you want away for almost no money and giving you the rights to use them commerically seems like a dream to me.
Commercial places get money out of that and even though the prices seem cheap, it’s still money. The people who submit their work there most likely get money for it (although I don’t know if that’s true - if you know it, please tell me) while you don’t get something if you submit it to Katorlegaz. So, why should someone, who did a great model during his free time give it away and let someone else make money out of it?
I’m sorry I can’t help you here but I personally think that it would be far too easy if you could just download the models, animate them and get paid for the work that someone else did for free. Try to make you own stuff and even if it’s not good enough yet, keep at it and keep trying. Someday it’ll be good enough and I tell you, you’ll be much more satisfied if you use your own models that if you just use someone else’s models.
I was under the impression you could use the Daz models any way you wanted. They are fairly inexpensive, and, as you say, the posing and animation software they offer for free. Why not just use their stuff?
Daz models are not walking because you need poser for that.
There aren’t that many cd like that out there. Plus if you want to be a animtor make your own models, that way you understand what you can do with them and use them for.
To me you come across as impolite. Maybe some more pleases and thank you’s are needed.
DAZ has Studio for free, it is a Poser like program. Unfortunately its animation abilities are not fully developed yet.
is any one know daz to blender. I tried one daz free model what they give with daz free studio converted to Obj. Then From Blender imported Obj. Only mesh is imported. no matarial. There were morphing also in the daz model but it was NOT imported as shape keys in the blender.
Daz has a timeline, keyframes, the ability to calculate in-betweens and ‘save animation’ options. If you can’t get those dolls to walk you are missing something.
I have see the time line and other menus but I could not make them walk. I am thinking that I
could bring those animals into Blender and use the morphing as Blender.shapekey() and use
walk.o.matic’s walking it will be nice.
Just model yourself. It’s more fun/challenging. Plus, you can animate them however you want, and not worry about copyright.

Should we start donating one - one model and make out own collection.
This will be free of any royaltee. No question. Upload any model with a small jpg picture. There should be one place where users can upload their models. Any one can download.
There should be 5 things alongwith upload. All 5 things should be in one zip file. One zip file one small jpg of size 60x100 pixels showing what model is
- blend file
- jpg file of 60x100 pixels
- small tutorial of for using that model
- email address of the creator of the model
- Any comments
A new thread should be started in blenderarts.org with the name FREE MODELS
All the models should be in this.
