Mapping of a booled surface

Hi,
I have a moving surface on an object1 that is driven by animated boolean object2.
How can I Map this changing surface of object 1 ?

Thanks for help!

Hi,

Provide video explanation

Moving Object2 has moving noise surface and is booling out object 1…so object 1 has also a moving surface… The other sides of object 1 are mapped as said in uvmap, but the booled surface has not initial uv mapping…

Maybe I can show tomorrow…

If you may, because I still can’t understand what you mean

You have a simple box and the upper side has a noise-waved surface. This surface is animated by a boolean object and gets as I see no defined mapping…

Simpler I can’t say… If that can’t make it clear, I will post something tomorrorw.

More or less I understood it, but what kind of a boolean object are you talking?

here i made an simple example. you can see the uvmapped cube , and in the other picture you see the same booled cube with the wave surface. as you see the mapping here is different to the unbooled cube. so the question is, how is this booled surface mapped , and how can i control that ?

thanks for help, sergey !

Got it,

May you share your .blend file?
And also tell your Blender’s version

see post above

Have you tried to add both Mapping and Texture Coodinate nodes and control Location parameters in there?

did you try ? did it work for you? …for me not…

It change its UV location, or is it not what you’re looking for?

could you post your file, please? for me it changed nothing

i think, as it seems, the mapping i get has something to do with the other boolean object…

Got it,

From what I’ve just found, seems like Boolean modifier has some kind of bad effect on UV-mapping. Maybe it is better to use something like a Displace modifier along with Voronoi texture?

Seems like someone has reported about that problem 2 years ago, but whether it’s been solved or not I can’t get, it says “Resolved”, while in fact, seems like it’s not. Or maybe it’s just meant that it’s been reported, but not resolved in verbatim.

Here what it says about Difference operation method that has been chosen in your case:

Difference:
The target mesh, or collection of meshes, is subtracted from the modified mesh (everything outside of the target mesh or collection is kept).
