I think that the chicken looks kinda out of place, because it doesn’t look as nice as the rest of it.
I need to design more characters, add some more “clutter” around, the main character, probably 2 more houses (to make it seem random) and buildings like a church and a clock tower.
Here are some town guards (they don’t have weapons yet)
All of these characters in the town are made with the same base mesh, but I made a few changes to each to make them unique.

I was planning on making every character type unique- guards (in a specific town) are the same, weapon merchants are the same, potion merchants are the same. But if you believe they should all be different I can do that too, I just don’t know how far to go.
Right now I’m working on hand painting a church for the city- so it may be a couple hours before the next update
Great work! You’re progressing well! I recommend you look at some reference for the human head. Even some cartoon reference will help. At the moment the eyes are way too open. Makes the characters look like they are constantly scared. Keep it up!

The easy way to get a lot of unique characters is to make the neck and head a separate mesh. That way you can just make different heads by using a different texture and a little sculpting.
I do have the texture of the head as a different texture, and I have modeled differences into the characters.
I will look into some animated characters (or maybe the population is always scared )
Thanks for all of the comments and the suggestions- though I will not get to all of them right away, because I am still in the process of hand painting the church (it is currently the longest I have spent on a texture)
Here is the church I’ve been promising:
it’s kinda gigantic, and it took 2-3 hours to texture (up close it doesn’t look as good, but I intend on this being a 3rd person game, so it should work)
Great works there, I like it…your skills are better and better.
I think you’re in that level when you’re able to do interesting assets for your game and it will looks great.
