Node Based Rigging in Blender

I don’t know if this is the right place for this topic (if it is, please pardon me, I am completely new to this forum) but I wanted to ask informations about nodes in blender.

As a rigger in maya (or even houdini) I find the node system extremely useful if not essential for the automation and the development of complex rigging tasks.
It helps to keep track of things, understand connections clearly and shuffle around dependencies without needing a manual approach because you can just connect and disconnect “attributes” or “channels”.

I was wondering if the new release of blender 2.8 has got this system implemented and if not, if it’s something that will happen at some point in the future.

I am completely new to blender, any advice from blender riggers and maybe from riggers that have migrated from node-based systems like maya?

I have been searching this everywhere on the web but I could find very little infos.
The only relevant thing I could find was this:
https://download.blender.org/institute/nodes-design/object_nodes.html

and this

thanks in advance

You can get the 2.8 alpha and have a look at it.

Just found this one today.
I haven’t checked if it has been implemented
