Hi, It’s wired, I just recorded a video to show light nodes work on Blender 3.2 alpha with Node Kit.
Can you share your blend file which contains light nodes to me? I need to double check.

It’s getting even more wired.
I can load the nodes on any light, EXCEPT area light in 3.1 and 3.2. (and the nodes appear way offset)
YOU can load it on AREA lights, what I can’t. And you used macos as well. I’m on macos 12.2.

Hi, I found the reason of the issue, your area light is broken, just try to remove it, and add a new area light, then you can save and load presets for your area light.
And for the offset while loading presets, it’s normal, since we can not have accurate bounds for all nodes some times, and loaded presets can follow your mouse, so this is okay.
I made so many new blend files with new lights that I can’t count it …
I think your lights have some problem, if you try to create a new brand new blend file, and add new lights, all will work. I just found some issue with the blend file you sent to me. The light seems broken in your blend file. The latest version of Node Kit did handle saving and loading for light objects.
Can you reinstall Node Kit, and try again, or maybe reinstall Blender 3.2?
Hi,
so…, took a while. I went through everything.
The light used in the scene has not problems at all.
It was a light stuck in ‘Orphant data’ and was a spot light called ‘area light’.
I just had to delete this bugger and now it works.
(I also used a new startup.blend and appended just the collections, but the orphant data was imported/appended as well, what I didn’t notice…)
Sometimes…you know…
I loaded factory settings but still didn’t work.
I tried startup.blend files from new downloaded blender files…
I have no idea how this thing got stuck there and produced issues.
(To be honest: the hardest part with blender 3d is to figure out the issues, coming with blender,…like keymaps, themes,…)
Anyways, a BIG thank you, for helping to solve this problem.
And sorry for wasting your time with this…^%$%%$*•∞^%$
We eliminated the bugger !
Yeah, good news. I just noticed the area lights name in your blend file is not consistent. So I suspect there is some problem in the light itself, but I did not know where the issue is, so finally, you figure out, it’s great, maybe because Blender 3.2 is still in alpha, and some bugs are still there.
No problem, I was sad for some moment that I could not help you, but yeah, now I am glad you finally figure out the reason. You are going to bed like yesterday? so have a good one!
Yepp, I’ll have to see my pillow.
The thing with blender is when customsing to your needs and saving the startup file many times it will end up like this. Had this with other issues too.
Same with the pycache files, they can mess up also nicely in the addons folder.
I mean the main ‘pycache’ folder, not the ones in the single addon folders itself.
So in other words, there are many construction sites in blender you have to think of additionally to the THINGS you want to do…
Anyways,

thanks
There is no key shortcuts to load node presets, you need to use mouse click.
Hey man I am still getting some problems trying to save some world environment nodes. When loading it doesn’t load how it should. Sometimes it saves the wrong HDRI and others the rotation output gets messed up. This is a group node containing some stuff inside from the addon Asset Management.
Hi, can you provide a blend file which contains your world environment nodes you want to save and load, and tell me what version of Blender you are using?
