realistic skin??? and head modeling

WOW! There’s some great lessons learned. Good cut and paste stuff. Nice summary.

The only thing I’m not sure about are the zones. When I tried weight painting the hair zones, I always had hair particles escaping and popping up all over. So I had to shrink the actual target area and hope they stayed in bounds. Finally I resorted to the seperate mesh entirely, using the same principle you did.

seriously, really good materiel.

Hi All

@ Zeke Faust, long time no hear, how you been? I have attached one of the reference pics I have been using all along, have a look and see where you think the deficiencies in the model are.

@ FXR, I also encountered that problem, if it is the same thing, the problem I had is that the mesh did not have enough sub divs so the weight paint jumps to the next quad.

Bit of effort put in today, but this is not turning out to be as realistic as I am wanting. Raw blender render at the moment.

i did some photoshop. Eyes need shadows and more highlights. Skin could be lighter. Added noise for fake detail on skin.

the picture in 246, are you trying to replicate her exact facial geometry ? Do you have a profile also

Latest attempt.

@bigbad, thanks for helping here, agree with some of your comments and used them in this one, maybe yours is a little too yellow?

@FXR, was not really trying to get exact, just pretty close. I definitely think though that this should be shelfed now.
