Removing inflation like using morph target in zbrush

after sculpting with alpha textures, you’ll get some unwanted inflation, in zbrush you can remove it like this video (time stamped)

now i want to know if something like this is possible in blender, i’ve tried shrink wrap, reshape with multires modifier and shape keys but couldn’t get similar result and i know i can use normal map but that’s not what i want

Isn’t it the same as a smooth brush? I think it’s a smooth brush.
I don’t use Sculpture much, so I don’t know if there are any other features.

smooth brush (both deformation types) will remove details. so no

Take a look at the idea of the video.

Quick answer: not by default. Blender doesn’t have sculpt layers so that exact workflow can’t be replicated.

There’s an addon for sculpt layers but I’m not sure if it can be used like in the video

i have the addon and i don’t think it can do it but what i want to is shrink the mesh to its original form without losing the added details

I don’t think that’s possible currently, or at least I can’t think of a way.

Sometimes, I like to stack sculpt steps in Shape Keys…
It’s not that they allow subdivisions, or remeshes; but you can still control how much a certain shape key influences the overall mesh.

ok accidently discovered a method that is not perfect but it’s better than nothing, sharing this for people who are interested
copy the mesh and add multiresolution and subdivide, start sculpting details then apply the base after that add shrinkwrap and put it above multires and use copy of mesh as target
