@Rute_Perdiz has been adding “real” fur to the musician. We needed to determine if this would be a good approach for the FMV.
The conclusion is that probably it’s way too much trouble for the added quality
…We’re going to try an alternative method to add the fur appearance. It has worked before, on a client project I’ve worked on recently, and it’s so lightweight that we can even use it even in-game. Also it’s mostly undistinguishable of particle fur from 1 meter away from the character.
I apologize for the absence, I had some work on hand.
Today I started a new character for the village. She will be the farmer.
I drew up a simple sketch to be able to have a reference and I have already modeled the sweater and the vest.
Tomorrow I hope to model the skirt and scarf.
Today I continued to model the clothes of the village farmer.
I managed to finish the scarf, the apron and the skirt.
Tomorrow I will start with the shoes and finally the fur.
I hope tomorrow to be able to model everything and then start simplifying geometry.
Today I was able to finish the shoes for the village farmer.
I started, too, to simplify the geometry to later be more practical of painting the textures.
Monday, I will detail the fur and so I will start painting the textures.
Hello friends!
Due to her 3 consecutive posts limit, I’m updating in the name of @Rute_Perdiz:
Hey guys!
I hope you had a good weekend !!
Today I finished simplifying the geometry in the character.
I also started detailing the fur and I hope to start painting the textures tomorrow.
This week will be finished and I will start a new character.
Today I started to paint the textures of our village farmer.
I managed to finish the details on the scarf, sweater, vest and started the belt, which I haven’t finished yet.
Tomorrow I will go to the skirt and apron.
Today I completely finished the painting of our farmer in the village.
Tomorrow I will try a different shape in relation to the fur, so that it looks more like fur.
Then, I’m going to start a new character.
Hello friends! I have many many things to try on Resilience Satelle, but these days have been busy, so I still won’t have time for the weeks to come to try them
But, @Rute_Perdiz keeps working on the NPC folks, so here is her progress report:
Today I started modeling the village farmer.
I managed to make the character’s sweater, pants and vest.
Tomorrow I will touch up the belt better and then I will make the boots.
Today I continued to model the details of the clothes of the village farmer.
I’m putting together the X lines that sew the vest, so it’s a longer process.
Tomorrow I hope to finish this task and start modeling the boots.
Today I finished modeling the boots of the village farmer.
I also finished the details of the vest that had started yesterday.
Tomorrow I will start the hat, then start to clean the geometry and start painting the textures of the character.
Today I started painting the textures of our farmer Geraldo.
I’ve already managed to finish the vest, pants and sweater.
Tomorrow I will go to the belt and the boots, leaving the hat and fur for last.
I hope to be able to finish this week.
Having worked for the last month doing scene assemblies with both engines, Unreal and Unigine…
I at this point can’t decide with which is the best to proceed with…
Both have important Pros and Cons… I lean most to Unigine, especially due to its gorgeous volumetric clouds (real volumes like blender) and volumetric real-time effects, unlimited terrain, etc… But Unreal does have better tools, especially for animations, all assets on the Quixel library for free, beter tools for roads and rivers… as such, because it’s eminent the release of UE5…
We’ll wait a bit longer before start porting the assets for the game engine.
Today I managed to finish our farmer’s painting!
Now the final phase will be in charge of Rogerio Perdiz, who has the task of placing a skeleton on him.
Tomorrow I will start a new sketch for a new character.
I hope you like Geraldo, the farmer !!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
Today I finished a new sketch for a new character.
It will be the witch / herbalist of the village that I have named Matilda.
Tomorrow I start modeling.
