Hello @Voppag! Nice to see you here again!
Hope you’ve had great days!
Thanks, it was fun work… but working on Resilience Satelle was even more fun
Until next time!

Hello friends! I apologize for the radio silence!
We have been active mostly on the “Clash of Little Pound” branch of Resilience Satelle…
 Thinking this over, I now really thing that the Clash thread should be merged with this one as they are the same project.
I have to check with the moderators if that is possible.

For the moment I bring you NEWS regarding the movie I talked a couple of posts above.
As some of you may know, last Summer I worked on an Hollywood movie called:
Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood.

I have the pleasure to announce that it will be premiered on March, on a cinema festival:

and soon after on NetFlix.

I don’t have NetFlix, so I’ll probably only see it later on, but if you do I’m sure you’ll have a good time seeing this one! … If you do see it please take some photos and share them here or by PM.

Also the only image that they have released…

…is one of the shots that I or my good friend Carlo Pietramale made the layout for  (yes, using Blender  ) We both worked on the moon shots and some are very similar, so I can’t tell for sure if this one is mine or his, but anyway is awesome to see it finalized!

If you end up seeing the movie I dare you to spot my shots
… I worked on a bit more than 100 shots, so you have decent chances.
If you spot my name on the credits (should be on “Layout” or “Layout artists”) I would love to see that too

Next week I’ll have more news about the Quest we had for years to acquire recent hardware. Spoiler alert, we did it and was thanks to the compensation for the work made on the Apollo 10 1/2 movie!

Until then!
Best regards
Rogério

… And here are the things that were possible to buy thanks to the Apollo 10 1/2 movie (which will premiere on NetFlix on the 1st of April 2022 btw (not a lie),
Mine is the orange one, Rute’s has the Purple(ish) one.

They are Twins, exactly the same specifications:

  • Ryzen 7 5800X
  • 64 Gb Ram
  • Nvidia RTX 3060 with 12Gb of ram
  • 34" Dell Alienware monitors with 98% DCI-P3 color support.

Putting us in a much better condition than before!
Now it’s only a matter or time! By time I mean free time.
… which ain’t a small problem to solve by all means

I’m good at working but terrible at producing
… but I do am learning :slightly_smiling_face: and although slowly, some progress get’s made also in that end.

Anyway, just wanted to show/update you guys about what is from this side of the network cable.
Until some day!

Hello Friends!
So the Portuguese film fund for this year is happening again!

The submission deadline is 21st of April.

@Rute_Perdiz is preparing the submission for this year. I made such a lousy presentation over the last 10 years, that was pointless continuing to hit the same bush and instead I figured that it should be interesting to try a fresh approach and point of view.

So far the following tasks are complete:

  • Script has been re-written from zero. Altough the story keeps the same, many aspects were improved. Orthographic mistakes were corrected. Brand new action and lines were invented and everything was re-imagined considering the budget they can provide, in case of selection.
  • A 1 minute storyboard was created (also by Rute)
  • Project graphic presentation, featuring a lot of the images shared on the thread.

More news soon!
Best regards
Rogério

Thanks Meshmonkey!

Hello Friends!
I have the pleasure to announce that the application for the Portuguese film funds was submitted successfully with all the required bells and whistles!

Coming next:

  • In the next 15 days, technicians will study all the papers and will eliminate the candidates that made some mistakes, failed to meet some requirements, or simply forgot to send something.
  • Then, the lucky folks that didn’t make any mistakes will have to endure a period from 15 to 30 days, wile the jury evaluates the projects.

So… see you again in 15 days!
Best regards

Did I say 15 days!
…seems that will be more than that, so far not a word yet!

And you guessed it!
Not a word yet about the Portuguese Cinema Fund… one person must be very healthy to apply to these funds… it’s at one month labeled as “Análise de Candidaturas” which translated gives “Candidacy Analysis”, which, in this case, refers to the certification that all papers were submitted correctly.

Hey friends!
Hope you guys had great times!

I have news about the Film Fund mentioned above!
The provisional list of projects that made it through the first round has arrived today in my e-mail.
So this is a provisional list, it can therefore change… :slightly_smiling_face: but not for Resilience Satelle, because it totally nailed it!!!

All papers were submitted exactly perfectly and therefore it shall pass to the second round where a group of experts will closely read everything, study if it has the potential to be funded, and give it an evaluation!

This time I don’t dare to estimate a deadline, so let’s just wait and see what comes next
Until next time!

Hey Friends!
So the official papers that confirm that we passed to the 2nd stage are now publicly available online:

“Admitida” means “Admitted”

Hello friends!
The results for the Portuguese cinema fund have arrived and “Resilience Satelle” ended in position 28 from 32 candidates… the 4th worse, therefore.
I’ve run to it 8 times in the last 12 years… I guess it’s safe to say I don’t stand a chance with these guys! :weary:

I apologize, friends, I ensure you we did take all the time we could to make a proper presentation.
Seems that indeed we’ll need the 50 years. We can’t convince anyone of the value of the project.

Well, like old Blender used to say after a report of several issues: “Continuing Hapilly”! :slightly_smiling_face:

Meanwhile, we keep working at snail’s speed like always
Thanks for the encouragement!

Hello, friends!

It’s time for an update! I hope you’ve been having a great time. As you may have noticed, most of the current asset development is focused on “Clash on Little Pond.” However, we’re almost there, and soon we’ll be shifting our focus back to Resilience Satelle.

Here’s what we have planned for the future:

  • First and foremost, we need to create a few characters to populate Noam Village. We already have plenty for Moget Village, but we need to bring the other side of the cliff to life.
  • We’re also working on inventing a few more boats, such as the school boat.
  • The mountains will receive some much-needed attention using geometry nodes to enhance their appearance up close.
  • We’ll be revising the waterfalls as well.
  • The shader techniques we’re using in Clash on Little Pond (and other valuable lessons learned from previous projects) will be applied to the materials in Resilience Satelle.

Although we don’t have anything to show just yet, rest assured that none of these tasks have been forgotten. We previously mentioned a 50-year timeframe, and with 46 years still remaining, it seems we’re on track and making good progress.

Thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates in the future! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi guys!

This time, my work is a bit different from what I’ve been doing in the past few days. Rogério Perdiz gave me the mission to repaint a character that he originally modeled and painted some good years ago. This character is Shar, a shooting star that holds significant meaning. He is part of the Resilience Satelle story but will make an appearance in Clash On Little Pond. I’ll try to keep his original image, just refreshing patterns and colors! I’m still only painting on the blue shirt. (The one on the left is the original version and the one on the right is mine).

Hope you like it!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz

Hi guys!

Today I continued re-painting the character that Rogério Perdiz designed for one of our stories, Resilience Satelle, but who will also have a brief appearance in Clash On Little Pond. I finished painting the jersey today and moved on to the shorts. I decided to keep the original but adding a touch of more pronounced colors. What do you think?

Best regards,
Rute Perdiz

Hi guys!

Here, I’m still repainting Shar, and so far, I’m loving the results I’ve been getting. Today, I managed to finish the shorts, maintaining the originality that Rogério put in but adding more intensity to the colors and a few extra details. Tomorrow, I’ll continue to work on detailing the gloves.

What do you think?

Best regards,
Rute Perdiz

Shar is Back and is looking fresh!!!
Great job @Rute_Perdiz!

Hi guys!!

Today I finished the gloves! And I absolutely LOVED the final result. I enjoyed painting them immensely. I’m trying to maintain a resemblance to the original painting but giving it a “freshness” and vibrancy even in the darker colors.
Honestly, blacks and dark colors are very challenging for me to work with. I really enjoy when I can color and bring things to life; I wasn’t made to paint dark things, haha.
Tomorrow I’ll continue with the sneakers, to which I’ve already applied the base color. :star: :star: :star: :star:

Hope you like it!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
