Great progress @Rute_Perdiz! Thanks for your work!
It’s resembling the concept you did… which I think it’s not yet shared
Hi guys!!
Today, I finished modeling the sneakers for our character. The base model is quite simple, as some details will only be added when I begin painting the textures.
Tomorrow, I’ll start working on her visor—the last accessory left to complete. Once that’s done, I’ll clean up the geometry to prepare everything for texture painting.
What do you think?
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
Nice to see you guys still working on your projects! I can tell you guys have also improved much on your character models and visual style as well. I don’t come to Blender Artists much these days, but it’s nice to see familiar faces still working on their art.
Hey @ArtAvenue!
It’s so good read from you again!
Yeah, we really want to deliver good quality products and we kind are forced to do updates as the Blender versions do dramatic changes, like the recent Eevee-Next in case of “Resilience Satelle” and the rigging tools for COLP.
We really want to have these done, so we keep posting here and pushing forward in the hope one day we get an opportunity to have these on the fast lane
Regarding blenderartists, I still remember when it was a vibrant community, especially back in the days of the Opel GT project (2008-2012). It was a place full of life where we’d gather with friends, make new ones, and help each other grow. Those days really felt like a golden era. Now, though, the atmosphere has changed; responses here have become rare, and posting feels like tacking up a newspaper in the saloon of an abandoned town. Still, I haven’t lost hope We’ll continue sharing updates on all the projects we’re working on
Yeah, that kind of is what has happened just about everywhere on the internet, most social media is a dead wasteland, I only ever get comments from people I know in real life who follow me or long time followers. It’s really bad out there, especially for artists… Tho, I almost have more steam recently to be creative and make things without as much hesitation or desire for perfection. I feel like I can make art and just be proud of it for what it is and not care so much for the attention from other people.
You gotta make art, and you gotta finish it, for yourself more than anything really.
I couldn’t agree more! You’re right!
Art and art styles shouldn’t be a target for critics, is just too subjective.
Technicalities do benefice from a bit of critic… pointing ways to improve edge loops helped me substantially on the Opel GT development days. Today geometry nodes tips and tricks saves me many times
It’s like we… we can’t ever compete with Pixar or Disney graphic quality. A single frame of their movies takes many days to render, but we do can make up in bringing new points of view… for exemple no one makes a clue about how Portuguese do things, how we think and how is our culture and I think we can help with that… in a storytelling and graphic way that people will actually enjoy
Hi guys!!
Today, I completed the display and began the process of cleaning and optimizing the geometry.
As I work on merging and refining the geometry, I’m also enhancing some accessory details.
This step takes a bit more time, as I need to concentrate to ensure everything is properly aligned.
Hope you enjoy it!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
It’s the time that everything that only causes problems with rigging goes out
Hi guys!
I’m continuing to optimize the geometry here, aiming to combine as much as possible into a single object. Today, I managed to complete the shoulder guards, adding more detail to some elements as well. After that, I moved on to the skirt, which was a bit challenging as I worked out how to clean up the geometry and merge it in a simple and cohesive way.
I’m hoping to finish soon so I can start painting the textures… I can’t wait to begin painting!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
Hi guys!!
I’m still working on assembling and optimizing the geometry that forms the character.
It’s a challenging task, as I’m aiming for a practical structure that always makes sense.
Some areas require a great deal of thought, like solving a puzzle or a brain teaser.
There are only a few elements left to complete this stage, so I’ll be starting the painting process soon.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
I love all the small details! Belts and clasps and all such.
Thanks @Meshmonkey! It’s cool to read that… some say we put too much details on our characters MIckey has 2 buttons, a pair of gloves and shoes and that’s it. But that was to save drawing time… since 2000 (when I started) that the advantage of 3D always felt to be that we model it once the best we can and then the details are preserved for all shots.
Hi guys!!
I didn’t make much progress on our character today, as I had a few matters to handle this morning.
However, I was able to make some headway with merging the geometry.
I’m hopeful that this stage will be completed soon, and I plan to start texturing later this week.
Hope you enjoy the progress!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
Hi guys!
Today, I finished assembling and refining the geometry of our character. I’ll still make a few small adjustments, but tomorrow I plan to organize everything so we can move on to the next stage: painting the textures.
I hope you enjoy it!

Hi guys!
Today, I finished optimizing the character’s geometry and prepared it for the next stage: texture painting.
After researching references, I have some ideas for the types of details I want to add to the accessories.
I’ve already started painting some of the simpler elements.
I hope you like it!
Best regards,
Rute Perdiz
Those sewing lines look very nice!!!
Keep it going, you’re on the right track!
Thanks for your comment @Secrop!
@Rute_Perdiz has created a system…it’s all hand painted, by “system” I’m referring to a steps list, that gives this results consistently. She is a Master of 3D painting! I’m not as good my self.
This is all being recorded , so you can see how it’s done later
Yeah, i noticed. And that’s why i like it!!
It looks so alive; like the cloths my grandma would make for me!
Indeed!
Hi guys!!
Today, I continued working on painting the textures for our character, Stella. I started adding more color to the jacket and am focusing on replicating the details from the illustration. It’s a time-consuming task, as the mesh pattern on the texture needs to be done in stages, but the result is looking fantastic!
What do you think?
