Excelent work. Dead on. I wish Blender had SSS to give you that last bit of rendering quality.

Are you doing just a face animation, or will you model past the shoulders?

You just have to crash everybody… don’t you? I am stuck on my project because I have no clue how I am going to model the warriors, and here you modeled an already finished (at least for me!) head in two hours… you make me sad…

Andy: shader is really good, shadows are a bit too noisy, what kind of light did you use?
and are you going to make a full Gollum?

modeling completed, now i’ll have to paint some textures… and i’m not really satisfied with the shading [tweaked it over 2 hours yesterday :x ].

getting there slowly, but still…
here’s a quick update, texturing on its way, i made a spec map, a nor map and a color map. working on all three atm. too bad this whole thing is getting pretty sluggish on my crappy pc. i’m more and more moving away from weta’s gollum. but i think the shading is getting better.

There’s a guy who is making his Gollum too, i followed his work for a moment, it’s really well done.
