SuperTux 3D

hello? anybody out there?

hey i’m uploading supertux3d to svn right now.
if you want to download it, sourceforge provides a tarball
of anything i upload here.
(note that i’m uploading in chunks so you might get something that doesn’t work
if you download it too soon.)

I’ll model him =) I just bought a graphic tablet, so I can model and texture.

thanks, killer!

but… wait… have you seen my attempt?
it’s on layer 11 in this file
it will be colorless unless you put this folder in //textures from
the file Tux11.blend.

Keep up the good work!

thanks minifig

wanna help?
PlEaSe?

Sure!
I like this game.

hey guys, i fixed some bugs.
tux’s shadow dissapeared, and i reapreaded it.
THE CAMERA COULD GO THROUGH WALLS and i fixed that.
the badguys go many times faster.

does anybody want me to upload these changes?

and minifig,

  1. with what part of supertux3d do you want to help with?
  2. do you want admin access to the sourceforge project?

If you are still looking for a model of tux, there is one on my website:
http://www.hessiess.com/tuts_resorce_1.php.

I also have a newer, better rigged version if you want it.

Nice game idea, I will be watching this thread :).

I don’t know about the sourceforge thing, but I would like to help with whatever I can.
I am not very good at modeling or scripting though.

do you have any screenshots?

no, I don’t have any screenshots. I’ll make some soon.

minifig, no modeling or scripting, huh?
well, howabout you help convert the 2d levels to 3d?
maybe more creatively than i am now? (I’m just pretty much
making them in a line…)

has anyone tried to download it from svn?
if you have, you may have noticed that there are
almost no textures. I will upload a tarball of them soon.

speaking of which, minifig, do you have very fast internet?
you may be able to help upload to svn (like, i send you a tarball, you uncompress it and upload it…)

sorry I have not shown much gameplay or textured scenes.
there was not much to show, but I will upload some
screenshots soon, as I said.

the Blendmaster.

Looking good dude.

I do have fast internet, but I may be busy for the next couple of weeks…
I have to study for the ACT.

I see you have competition in the GE contest.:stuck_out_tongue:

okay, minifig. Good luck!

i’ll upload tarballs directly to svn in the meantime.

and I’ll make some screenschots right now.

the Blendmaster

okay, here are some screenshots.

notice that the tuxes look like my avatar. that’s because it’s the same pic.

these are from the first 3D level, a copy of the first 2D level.

I forgot to make screenshots of big- and fire-tux. I’ll get that later.

Very nice! I like your characters. The game reminds of SuperMario 64 as far as visual style and enemies go.

You’ve got some seams on the back of the snow piles.

Nice! that looks really good!

@rozzy: I know I have seams, and I don’t care at this stage.

@minifig: thanks, but these are stills. the logic takes up 68% of my 1.5GHz processor,
and the framerate is never more than 10, usually 6.
(I dont know what to do about that, I spent three days straight optimizing it.)

and… I forgot to take screenshots of big and fire tux. does anybody want those real bad?
it’s kind of a pain to take screenshots.
