Guys, the Multires mod needs a “Delete Lower” button.
Heck yeah it does! Also, it needs to fix the whole project to base mesh deal. That part is a massive pain and makes the MultiRes so much worse than ZBrush’s SubDivs.
Does this link work? I made a quick video showcasing the speed now.
Guys, you need to jump onto the latest 2.81 build. I have some bad news and good news at the same time.
The bad news is that the mesh has visual bugs and of some reason no longer has hardened normals for a sharper looking mesh (everything looks so soft now).
However, the performance boost is honestly kind of nuts. The mesh in that image is 11,7 million verts and I am able to sculpt and move the model around like it’s around a couple of thousand verts. The yellow brushes especially are crazy fast. I am honestly kind of shocked. I hope I am not the only one who notices the difference.
I hope they will be able to fix the visual bugs. I really prefer hardened normals over the soft looking ones.
This is nice, but they all seem to be for sculpt mode rather than edit mode. What’s the point of optimizing sculpt when you can’t even make a decent base mesh…
Brilliant…This man is unstoppable…
What the hell?
This must be a bug… Fire up a bug report…
EDIT: Fixed
What Multires needs is to stop butchering our sculpts. Everything else is non-essetial.
Blender needs a brand new sculpting subdiv system.
Hurray!
Man, why using the smooth brush with multires is so damn slow?
Yeah, smoothing when using multires is a nightmare. This needs a fix, I guess.
In the meantime, don’t do it… lol…
Heh, I used to rarely use sculpt mode, but it’s becoming my favorite area of Blender. Tonight’s experiment.
Yeah, I’ve been super addicted to it for the last couple of weeks. Even got me off of WoW Classic for the last week. I really need to get back into the game and get to lvl 60. XD
ZBrush has got Pixologic, Blender has got Pablologic!
Guys the speed is much much better and yet there is room of improvement
