The big Blender Sculpt Mode thread (Part 2)

Where can i download this matcap?

Oh wow thanks for using my model and pretty good result on the matcap so far! Feel free to share the final version with us when you are ready. :handshake:

edit: Btw i think the spec highlight could be sharper (and therefore brighter too).

I think that the specular should be more sharp. I allowed myself a small modification.

Cool, I’m not able to download it.
Edit
Ok, Got it.

Thanks

Yeah a sharper spec looks better imo.

Anyone tried SculptGL https://stephaneginier.com/

It has a standalone version now and you can paint PBR vertex colors as well. They are the same dev of Normad Sculpt. I wonder why there isn’t a Windows version of Normad Sculpt.

I am testing the standalone version. It has Multires with vertex color and mask support.

You can test nomad as well… https://nomadsculpt.com/demo/

Your link doesn’t work, can you try uploading again? If it’s small enough you can upload it directly in here

Thanks. Tried it .Performance was very slow.

The standalone version is a zip file you can download to your cpu and use rather than using the web browser version. :slightly_smiling_face:

The final version!

I also recommend playing around with Cavity to give the matcap some muddy texture to it.

You can find it in the updated link I posted previously. It’s called Mud_WetHighlight.

While discussing matcap settings, I truly wish that it was possible to have colour on cavity. Would enable more types of roughness effects on our matcaps.

Unfortunate, but at least the rewrite of the Workbench seems to have opened up a window of opportunity for adding this in at last.

Noticed that my Mud matcap can get some cool highlights and shadows with these settings.

Yes on an old version 2.83 I think we could do it and it gave a nice patina effect.

Hey, nice, I didn’t know SculptGL has a stand-alone version now, thanks for the tip. I’d also love to see Nomad Sculpt on desktop OSes.

Yeah, I tried the standalone years ago but the performance wasn’t that great either…
