The Grotto of Egeria (Veduta della fonte e delle spelonche d'Egeria fuor della Porta Capena)

A new view of my Piranesi reconstruction project: the view is taken from “The Grotto of Egeria” (View of the water springs of the Spelonche d’Egeria, outside the Porta Capena, or San Sebastiano)" (1760-1778).
As always, Piranesi fills it with mystery and accentuates its monumentality compared to the real size of the nymphaeum visible today in the Appia Antica Park (Rome -Italy).
Made in Blender 3.3.1. Rendered in Cycles and color correction in Photoshop.

Looks really good!
I love old paintings and etchings that show ancient remainders like this. I love how you re-imagined it in 3D

Tks AgentTuron, this is a part of my personal study and reconstruction project of the glimpses of Rome and the Roman countryside created from Piranesi during the XVIII century like a souvenire for the Grand Tourists

I also love David Roberts paintings and there are lovely etchings in the Description de l’Egypt. Most probably these are all CC0 by now. Great inspiration for sure!

Nice, only one small nagging
Branches or lianas on top on main - central object look too, artificial, like decoration on Christmas tree.
Like someone arrange it in this way, not like something which nature will do. Try to vary shape, thickness, etc. To look more like wild growth, than gardener work.

I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!

You’re on the #featured row! :+1:

This looks great! I think your awesome images would really benefit from a bit of Depth of Field, environmental effects like fog, a bit of bloom and a few blemishes on the image. Your modelling and and rendering is really good, but it all looks a bit TOO crisp and perfect. Especially for the very weathered locations this feels like a bit of a break.
But again, great work overall, just a small suggestion…
