The holiday cottage

For a while I’ve been trying to branch out from creating smaller assets and work on some bigger scenes. The idea for this piece was to create a scene of a holiday cottage, the kind of old buildling that may have fallen into disrepair only to be rescued at a later date.

The mood is intended to be a clear evening in early autumn (in the northern hemisphere at least!) as the trees start to turn and shed their leaves.

I modelled the building, landscape, windows, bike and planted pots. Thanks to Polyhaven for the other plants, rock models and HDRI (https://polyhaven.com/).

The wider images were rendered at 1024 samples in Cycles using only an HDRI and no denoising. The macro of the grass took a few more samples to clear the noise from the highlights in the background.

Thanks for looking!
