Tiger Tank (WWII)

Hey people. I am creating a Tiger tank. I have finished the blocking out and I am working on detailing on the tracks, wheels and back of the tank:

all comments are welcome

Being a kind of treadhead myself this is looking good.

Wow that was a quick comment  thank you. I am not very happy with how the treads are looking and this is already the 2nd time that I have redone them. I will improve them soon but first I will do some mode detailing!

That’s a pretty sweet model there! However it looks like it only has one tread.

Owldude - I’m sure he never noticed that. Sarcasm. He’s trying to get the treads right before duplicating it to the other side.

Thanks for the comments guys. No this tank only has one tread… (sarcasm) :stuck_out_tongue:

Some Progress:

Mmmm detail…

How are you making the ropes?

the ropes are basically slanted tubes with array and curve modifiers

Ah so the tubes are arrayed then the curve determines the path they will follow? (never really used the curve modifier)

Yes thats right. Here is a screen shot of the curve in edit mode:

Quick and easy method of creating a rope/cable I guess xD

Nice! You could have used the mirror modifier without having to redo anything but still have 2 treads.

Could have… anyway here is some detail on the front:

I am going to take a fresh look at it in the morning to see what else I need to add/fix and then hopefully I will start uv mapping soon
If any of you spot something that looks weird or missing please let me know…
Thanks

I have one problem with all of this…

You work fast

Thanks GrandeP, I think somethimes that I work too fast and tend to skip stuff…
Anyway I have uv unwrapped all 100+ objects in the entire model (was extremely fun  ) and now I am setting up and seperating everything into different materials and then I will start texturing. I will post an image when I have something to show.

Here is what I have gotten to so far:

Rendered in cycles. It has some very basic bump mapping as well but you can hardly see that, from here I will go into more details and paint some custom scratch maps and logos and stuff like that that needs to go on the sides.
Let me know what you think.

Dang Natholas you tryin to put out one of these daily  I’m impressed

Very awesome, must have been a pain to UV unwrap and plan all those objects with so many details.

BTW,is this rendered in cycles?

Edit:never mind the cycles part, forgot to read that part.

Hehe thanks brokenpixel, I will be working allot slower now that it is no longer weekend

@DCBloodHound Thank you, it was not the most fun process in the world but it is necessary i guess
