Every time i press ctrl-z seems to take 5-10 seconds to undo…even in quite simple scenes. I have a fast computer. Also crashes quite often.

Yes, Blender 2.8- is still terrible. I kind of hate it in many ways. Waiting time for undo actions is unacceptable. I am forced to use 2.79 for my future film/ video projects. E-Cycles thing is saving the situation for me though.
