It’s been over two years that I’ve been using Blender, and one mainly for VFX purposes. My goal is to get a studio job as a compositor. In my studies I had some subjects which I believe can aggregate value to this software. There are several experienced artists from big studios pipelines, personally, changing from Maya and moving on to Blender + Houdini package. Just to get clear I’m not undermining this software, those are suggestions for professional improvement without third party addons:
Render overscan resolution - Overscan Resolution
Lens Distortion STMaps - https://youtu.be/CFcPH5Dj0OU
Node system can easely get chaotic - Node System - Horizontal vs Vertical
Render passes for actual shadows - Shadow Precision Issue - Cycles
Easy switch to ACES colorspace - https://www.toodee.de/?page_id=1720
Real world light shapes - https://caveacademy.com/product/hdri-light-set-1001/
I wanna thank all dev team for this amazing software, since I’m able to study VFX without spend insane amount of money. Thank you devs!
