The Mac version works perfectly fine with a PC if you pair it via Bluetooth, or if you already have a Logitech receiver, like one from your Logitech keyboard. In point of fact mine is the Mac version as well.
The only difference between them is that the Mac version has a nicer color scheme, and doesn’t have a receiver bundled because Macs all have bluetooth.
Yea i recall for some reason they do not package the receiver with it and i tried another brand of receiver i had on hand with no luck so i had no choice but to send it back and get the Master 2.
Steelseries are great. I have had a raw Sensei for 6-7 years, still rocking and still my favorite mouse. The mouse wheel began to be a bit squeeky. I opened it, removed the lint stuck in there, and it now rolls like new. I would still use it if I didn’t have to give it to my wife 
The logitech MX Master 2 by the way can operate wired whilst charging so theres really no downside to it being wireless you can use it wired if you like. Only downside is imo it contributes to electronic noise, my guitar picks it up if its too near the pickups.
