Why don't they want us to make frosted glass or deep ocean materials anymore?!

Per title, I just want SMOOTH and CLEAR reflections and specular, but HIGH transmission roughness, which they removed. Why don’t they want us having such a material anymore, and does anyone know a workaround to get transmission roughness back? They really dropped the ball on this. Now you can’t make things like frosted glass or oceans where there is blurriness to objects deep behind them.

Use the general roughness for the transmission and a “coat” for the shinny surface.

The coat has it’s own roughness setting to get a shinny surface on top of the rough one.

For Eevee turn on screen-space refraction in render properteis and turn on refraction in the material settings.
