Wooden Toy Gun

Third render, composited. It’s basically the same as the second render but with less ambient light and stronger directional sunlight

First render, composited. I was trying to imply that a kid left the toy behind while playing in an abandoned structure…and it kinda worked, I guess. It’s not terrible, but it could be better.

The pistol, c. late May 2020

Dunno how, but apparently I was able to model an okay-ish pistol back in April or May 2020 (barely 5 or 6 months into learning Blender.) And while it had a few problems including major clipping (from improper use of a Mirror modifier), unnecessarily high polycount (from applied Subdivision Surface modifiers), and several other issues, the basic mesh and general shape of the model were decent. I was able to polish what was there and make a passable toy gun prop in early 2023; after a round of feedback, I moved onto other projects for a year and didn’t work on incorporating the feedback until early this year.
