Anthony's - Sketchbook

What… no gold? asks the Harley Hotel & Casino  Although they are quite interested in that lower left shader with the scratches (thinking about the slotmachine)…are you using that atrosphic node or whatever it’s called?

I plan to expand the heck out of this list. What is here is mostly what I had already used in other projects.
As for the shader you pointed out, it is from a tutorial on CGC and does indeed makes use of the anisotropic node.

Pulled together a few more. This time some glass and liquid shaders.

Picked up the CG Masters: Master It series yesterday.
While the bowling pin was not really a focus point (not yet anyway) I started playing in BI with it while I listened to the video. I’ll be posting the results from Volume 1 & 2 here before I start a WiP thread for the Environment and Animation series which I also picked up yesterday.

and away we go…

I took a look at those CG masters links, they look to be a nice investment. I’ll look forward to following your WIP(s)

So far I am happy with them. I finished Volume 1 today excluding Chapter 8 which is the BGE, I’ll come back to that.
Most of it was known information for me but I did pick up a few tips and some expanded information on a few tools.
Volume 2 looks to be much more involved as it is getting into some more advanced modeling as well as Cycles.

Here is the last of the BI renders for the Toon House.

Getting rolling with Volume 2

Still having trouble rendering consistent dark scenes.
Looks fine on both my PC monitors and on my hand helds but looks burned on my Mac.

The guitar is awesome, and it doesn’t look burned here. The textures are spot-on, except I think the fretboard texture needs to go along the neck and not across. As for the lighting, I would just crank up that light above, might make a big difference. Great work as always

Thanks V, I appreciate it.
I’ll probably play with the lighting a bit more, if it turns out I render it again I’ll rotate the fretboard wood around for ya.

**edit

Once you pointed out that I had not rotated the fret board texture it started driving me nuts.
Anyway here it is spun around and I added a touch of light towards the bottom.

Going to try and finish up the Master It DVDs today. (Excluding the BGE stuff)
Here is my environment so far.

You live in south Louisiana too? Awesome! What city are you from?

Lived, I’m originally from St. Tammany Parish.
Been living in DFW for the last 18 years.

Finished up Volume 2, very informative series.

Guitar looks much better  Love the house, you must teach me the ways, Master

Thanks. Glad you like them both.

As for teaching you … you start with a duck…

I am blow away by the simplicity and realistic appearance. I think many times artist add too much to a scene and it make it less realistic. You did a very great job on this blend.

Thanks you so very much.
Here, have a snowball.

The snowcone looks very realistic, is this cycles or BI? Either way it looks good.

Thanks Harley, it is a cycles render. I used Kent Trammell’s snow technique as a base for the shaved ice.
