Bed and Bathroom

Hi folks,

I’ve been meaning to post some images of a project I was working on this last year but haven’t got the time to do it yet. Meanwhile, here’s some renders of the suite done in Octane.

edit: In case you’re interested, you can download the blend file here.

That’s amazing! Love the wooden jambs in the second pic not to mention the lighting.

This looks absolutly stunning. The lighting is top notch making it look like the real thing!

The 3th foto does seem kinda off compared to the first two. The first two are really nailing it. The third; don’t know why but it seems like it’s a perspective thing. It seems to wide, look at the towels for example.

Thanks, folks. You’re way too kind.

@nent Thanks for expanding my vocabulary also.

@FrancisDrake You’re right…I’m yet to find a good way to portrait really small spaces.

Always a struggle, right? I remember reading folks describing their lighting process like “I just used an HDRi” and thinking: “How can it go wrong?”…and it always did. It started to feel a little more natural after I incorporated a couple of LUTs into the workflow. It’s working quite nicely in most sceneries, but I’m still to find that sweet spot.

nice lights and rendering!

hey! very nice. The texturing and rendering are very good.
Architecturally, I would prefer the cornice and the window in the bedroom to be of less contrast, they brake up the room, in my opinion - maybe cornice in ceiling tone?

fabulous love the little easy to forget details that add to the realism. Although mentioned several times already being the bane of my existence I got to mention the great lighting

What type of lighting did you use? Just a HDRI?

I would love to get a grasp of incorporating LUT’s in my workflow. Could point me to the right direction where and how to start?

Thanks,
T

@mxharr, the short answer is, besides the HDRi, I’m using a couple of lights outside the windows to help the noise dissipate a little sooner. Color Management plays a big role in the light behavior, though…

I’ll give you and @neb a more detailed answer as soon as I have some spare time.
