This is a commercial for magazine which can only be purchased in China. Thanks for your sweet offer, we cannot decide which language there will be released. But I think we will only have the Chinese version currently. :slight_smile:

on the wiki there’s a toon shader example. I think toon shading could help in some places, like the fence.

Yes, we have written our own OSL node for the Toon shader. But it seems still way to go for a better looking. Now we have to combine the render result from Cycles and Internal. The most wish tool in our list is FreeStyle, but it give some wrong render while objects crossed each other. :slight_smile:

i would like to see this as well, i understand you guys wanting to keep the node setups and such a trade secret, it definitely gives you an advantage. I think we are just curious to see where blender stops and where your artwork begins.

Great work! Did you paint on the render? or this is a straight render from Blender3D with minimal photoshop touch up?

At the moment, I am also using Blender3D as guide for my background painting. Mainly referencing on Yasuhiro Yoshiura’s Time of Eve and Makoto Shinkai stuff.

I also liked your shader, hopefully a toon shader will make its way into Cycles within the next few releases. I watch CCTV14 occasionally when I’m in China (actually I just returned recently, I’m making a website on study abroad in East Asia) and I noticed that a few shows use the toon shader it seems, although the animation is a bit clunky.

The quality of your manga/manhua seems much higher than most of the stuff I’ve seen in Mainland. Hope you can combine it with a great story line and improve the quality of Mainland manga! Do you plan to move into animation eventually?

Finally I’m interested in what some of the better universities are in China as far as learning digital art and animation. I’d like to include that kind of information in my website eventually.
