Good idea! I’ve pinned it to the #coding:released-scripts-and-themes category.
Quite a useful and interesting thread, also to discover add-ons I hadn’t previously heard of.
@anon72338821 3D-Coat is build in applink. Works in 2.8
I didn’t see that I can edit the list, but now it’s there
I featured this list on Blender Artists, figured it’s very useful for everyone:
The Rhinoceros 3D importer also works with Blender 2.8 - it is specifically written for 2.8.
Now also added to the main list.
More fixes, added more Built-in addons, removed F2 and 3D-Coat Applink and moved to Build in list.
I use the After Effects Camera and Null .jsx exporter quite a lot in my workflow sad to see thats currently missing.
I concur. Would be lovely if the offset edges addon gets ported
“Peetie started a list of developers that are confirmed to work in Blender 2.8”
Is the “developers” suppose to be addons? Developers doesn’t make much sense.
Ah indeed, typo. Fixed!
Dynamic Lines !
Wazou’s Pie Menus (WIP)
Thanks @pitiwazou, I added it to the list in first post, but you can also do it yourself if you want (next time).
We all can now edit the first post.
Any chance we’ll see Animation Nodes and Commotion added to this list any time soon? If not, that’s okay…I’m keeping a version of 2.79b close by so I can continue to use ManuelBastioniLab.
anyone working on the sapling addon? I miss this one…
I just installed last night’s 2.8 build and jayanam’s PBR Texture Mapper is failing to install (both from zip and manually).
So if it works for you, might want to hold on updating your blender
Reported via Twitter to developer. Probably Blender API had a little change and you are one of the first notice it.
I’ve read a post yesterday (forgot where) that someone is working on updating Animation Nodes to 2.80.
It seems it’s already there but not stable: https://github.com/JacquesLucke/animation_nodes/tree/blender2.8
Please ! Someone ‘The Master of Coding’ make a good snapping tool like in AutoCAD for Blender 2.80; Just want to grape a base point of a selected object that snap @ vertex, intersection, & mid point to other object’s vertex, intersection, & mid point. Just literally copy that function from AutoCAD; I don’t understand why can’t that feature be a part of Blender, it supper usefully for moving object precisely to another location on a different object.
Definitely something we are missing:
- Snapping to center of Edge of another object
- Snapping to center of a Face of another object
- Snapping to a vertex of another object.
There are some addons like NP station (2.79) and q_p (2.79) that can do similar like that.
There is one addon what does this; Cuber. And I believe is under-estimated. Though it works only in edit-mode and is destructive.
For now my workflow is;
- Go in Edit mode
- Select face, edge or vertex
- Shift-S: Snap cursor to selected
- Go out of edit mode.
- Add mesh (cube).
There are so many addons that work with hardsurfaces/booleans that doesn’t do this and it’s pretty annoying that we doodle around without precise placement.
