LuxCoreRender v2.3

I don’t know what is the default for MacOS, but in both Windows and Linux the compilation is done against python 3.7, since that is the version Blender uses. There should be no porting involved, just pointing the correct Python version

removed by popular demand

Is that where I should go to talk to whoever’s doing the Windows and Linux builds?

You can go to the Discord, but I would recommend the regular forums: http://forums.luxcorerender.org/

So wondering if I should try to figure out how to alter MacOS tar to understand xz format

I really have no experience with MacOS, but it seems their tar version is ancient, like all the other UNIX stuff that haven’t been updated since the OS inception.

Maybe it can be updated using brew?

should I even be bothering with doing cut_deps_release ?
I really don’t know, but I can try having a look what this script is

There are some useful information and links from in a Trello maintained by @lacilaci86

@B.Y.O.B
Hi, it is off topic but I cant reach Luxrender forum since a few days over local wan or on my mobile. Does something happen with the forum?

Cheers, mib

Hi, interesting. I am actually having the same problem since about two weeks (can’t reach luxcorerender.org or any subsite). However, I have talked to other users from different countries and they all can reach it. I suspected that it’s a problem with my local ISP (I’m in Karlsruhe), but maybe some other areas of Germany are also affected?
Who is your ISP?

It is a quite strange problem, the server is in the US and the IP address is: 23.229.184.160

Are you able to ping the server ? If not try to check you trace route.

Or is it a name server related problem ? Can you resolve the name www.luxcorerender.org ? If not you could try to use Google name server (8.8.8.8).

Hi, no ping and tracepath stop after 13 hops.
I changed my DNS already but if I cant get a ping it is not a DNS problem.
Strange is I cant get connection over mobile, too.
I also checked https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/forums.luxcorerender.org
Server is up but not for me.
@B.Y.O.B
Provider is 1und1, location is Berlin.

Cheers, mib

It looks like something wrong in Germany IP routing but it is really strange. Are you able to reach https://www.godaddy.com or https://www.maddogdomains.com (the hosting provider) ?

I can reach both of those.

Same here with both domains

The fact that even ping fail seems to suggest something at IP level. I have check the server configuration but there is no IP blocking active at the moment. Where do a tracepath stops ?

This is mine:

Trace complete.

By the way, I also tried it at a friend’s wifi (same city, same ISP) and I could not reach it from there as well. I also tried different computers, different operating systems, different browsers.

It looks like you can reach the server but the server can not reach you. I logged on the server and I tried a “ping 146-18-142-46.pool.kielnet.net” (your first public router) and it doesn’t work. However the same command works from my home.

The same test with B.Y.O.B. first router works both on server and from my home (this is even more strange because B.Y.O.B.'s connection should work).

Trying to figure out what is going on…

P.S. you are both going trough Telia and Telia is often the source of a lot of headaches.

I opened a ticket with the hosting service, they should answer in 72 hours. This kind of problems are really nasty and may depend by someone in between (like Telia).

OK, testing over proxy in Austria work.
It seams it is a Germany only problem.

Thanks for looking in to, mib

It also working from Germany according https://geopeeker.com.

I have spent an hour at phone with the hosting customer service but they haven’t find any problem so far. I will write B.Y.O.B. asking for some additional information but it look like a really hard trouble to fix (especially because it could an ISP problem not an hosting problem).

Thanks for your effort, may B.Y.O.B. use same provider.
Really strange is I cant reach forum from my smartphone, too.
Wifi disabled, different provider and so forth.
I guess if more user has the same problem we get more reports, hard to catch those errors.

CHeers, mib

Wow never mind something like that is going wrong for you guys.
Hope we find very soon the issue.

P.S. full support for baking maps in Blender plugin is planned for v2.4.
