[non-competing]: Is this a dream? (Make a Splash in Amsterdam)

Hello gang!

So finally after days of overthinking I decided to participate in this challenge. Though ideas would pop up in random places like bathroom I wouldn’t draw and sketch out to be honest.

I love Movies and Cinematic stuff, so I decided to make a cinematic scene of the current v3.2 splash screen by Oksana Dobrovolska.

What am I trying to do?
The boats are gonna float in the air. The Initial layout
(the mountain is from Megascans and boats are from blenderkit library)

Im gonna try various angles, lighting and more mountains probably.
The overall landscape is going to be desert kind of,
I’ll keep this thread updated throughout next week…

This is a trial render and my scene setup is somewhat finished

So my scene is set basically now gotta play with textures and lighting
The ground plane is going to be desert sand which should match the mountains.

I also modeled a robo pet vehicle for some humans from mixamo.

The cape is basically a cloth simulation I baked in separate file

Update :

Trying different angles with lighting, shadows and camera angles

Adding volume but it is going to push my potato laptop lol

Volume does make the scene sensational lol

Hey! Just a quick reminder that there’s now less than 12 ours remaining to wrap up your challenge entry - submissions close at 2022-09-15T21:59:00Z, GMT+1 (click on the link for some international times).

If you haven’t done so already, please review this post which contains some essential information for preparing your submission.

At the very least, upload your work to Sketchfab as soon as possible and add the #bcon22challenge tag.

It’s also a good idea to add a link to your WIP topic in the description of your Sketchfab model so we can easily find it.

I’ll also keep a close eye on the FAQ topic today, so if you have any issues or questions please post it there as soon as possible.

Good luck!

Hey! We just announced the winners - check it out!
