Here’s another sessions worth of an update. I’ve some basic materials for the windows, though I’ll probably keep it that way, or make it tinted. I’m planning to model a simple interior as well, just to add a little more realism.
So I haven’t modeled any parts further, but I’ve been testing out the car shader in different lighting situations, and I’m pleased with the result. Here is a simple turntable with a hdr map.
EDIT: the wheels are just test wheels, not the final wheels.
The car body is finished I think, and all that remains are the side mirrors, basic interior, and disk brakes. (if I’ve forgotten something please mention)

I used a newer build of Blender with Cycles AO, and I composited the ao on top of the original render. I think it looks better with the AO for sure.
Here is one updated wheel. I might not keep the Goodyear bumpmap. I changed the materials drastically, though the rim material looks a little off to me.
