Widow’s Watch is my attempt to portrait the seat of House Flint on a harsh, cold, and barren shore. It seems life has left the castle, only the violent sea and lifeless rocks remained around that place. I tried to convey the feeling of loneliness, but with a hint of hope in the distance. Lady Lyessa Flint is waiting for something that may never come back.
This is the second of three pieces I did for the exhibition “Unseen Westeros”.
Here are the other ones: Golden Tooth, Summer Isles
The main idea behind this exhibition/art-book is to show all the beautiful places of Game of Thrones we couldn’t see in the series. Me and over 40 artists worked on this ambitious project.

I used Blender for the castle, the environment is mainly matte painting.
The creation of the castle in Blender was surprisingly simple and fast.
Just combined Boxes and Boolean modifiers, no UVs.
Texturing and shading took me a solid 5 min ^^
well forget abut what i said ManuelGrad x))
yes in medieval times it was just impossible to make such pieces of architectures.
It’s just a matter of means. today with steal and concrete, almost anything is possible but long ago, castles
were strong and tough only with gravity :))
but… as i said, forget about it, it’s just technique…
what you did is just beautifull :)) just pefect !!!
