US WWII
M3 Infrared sniper scope

This was a very secret project and it was not used in EU theater
only at the end of WWII on Okinawa island battle.

Max Distance was around 100 yards
It was still bulky and difficult to carry and use in the field

Nice work Ricky. It’d be nice to see some scratch masks on some of the metal, so even though they are mostly new they look used (and loved.)

I’m experimenting with many different material
will try to use some scratches and good colors shaders
but a bit more difficult to get nice renders

thanks for comments &

First Helicopters in WWII

From a practical standpoint, however, helicopters were too new and immature of a technology, and only a few were built and utilized in small numbers. They had no measurable effect in WW2.

Focke-Achgelis_Fa_223 Drache

First German low production helicopter
about 20 units built and only 10 sent to the field.

Crew: 2 Capacity: 4 passengers
Dim = L = 12.25m H = 4.36m Wings = 24.5m
Powerplant: 1 × BMW Bramo 323D-2 nine-cylinder radial, 750 kW (1,000 hp) (take-off)
Max takeoff weight: 4,315 kg (9,513 lb)
Maximum speed: 176 km/h Cruising speed: 134 km/h
Service ceiling: 4,875 m

that is some great texturing…

not really more simple but effective to show the models
was not making high res realist anyway
more like a prop to be used later on in a more complex scene with many other objects

thanks

Why does this thread and therefore Ricky’s work here, not have 5 stars? It should have, such detailed and accurate modelling, I do not understand why it is not top rated.

Keep up the EXCELLENT work!

Cheers, Clock.

agree ! 5 stars from me
